The wedding preparations went smoothly, and everyone was looking forward to the party; however, one person in particular remained preoccupied while being quite busy.
Abby whispered to Clara, pointing to Hazel, who seemed less enthused than the rest,
"What's wrong with her?" She seemed to be distracted by something."
Clara also noted that Hazel had not been herself lately. She had skipped going shopping the other night, and she appeared concerned even now, when they were supposed to plan the reception.
"I'll go check on her," Clara said as she excused herself and made her way to Hazel.
"Hazel, why are you standing there?" Are you not interested in discussing your ideas for the reception party?" She inquired, surprising Hazel out of her musings.
Clara noted the tired look on her face and how her eyes had swollen as if she had been crying all night.
Hazel instantly averted her gaze, realizing she was crying again, and attempted a smile.
