Regina anxiously tightened her grip on Derek's hand and forced a smile. Though she was uncomfortable with everyone staring at her, she was more shocked by the smile they gave her.
Derek turned and smiled consolingly at Regina before making his way over to join the family.
"We are here, of course. Is it possible that when my mother calls, I do not comply with her request?" Derek chuckled as he gently released Regina's hand and hugged Emily.
"Mum, that is unfair. What about Drake and me? Do not we comply with your request?" Adrian pretended to be disappointed.
"Your son is constantly envious of me, Mom. I have no idea when he will grow. Perhaps after two or three more kids, he will realize that he is a father now and not a kid anymore," Derek shot back, beaming at everyone.
