Emily flinched at the sound of Edric's voice, watching him take the seat next to her.
"What kind of self-talk are you engaging in, honey?" Edric grinned, thinking it funny to watch his spouse muse to herself.
Emily slowly regained her composure and grinned awkwardly. "When did you come and why that surprise? You were not so reticent before," she inquired, shifting the subject.
After getting married, Edric and Emily's relationship got even better because they began to spend more time together, just like they had in the beginning when they first fell in love.
"Darling, I was not being evasive," Edric explained, bringing her hand to his lips and planting a kiss there. "You missed seeing me."
Emily smiled at his romantic gesture. She still felt giddy whenever Edric would kiss her.
