Clara hesitated when she noticed Adrian was silent and staring into space. She was aware that even the most logical person would find it difficult to process everything since it was all too much for them.
Taking a deep breath, Clara joined Adrian on the couch and grabbed his hand, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"I am there to hear you out," she said and Adrian relaxed at her comforting words.
"It still seems so unbelievable to realize that your aunt is the one responsible for everything," Adrian said, putting his hand on hers.
"You know, I wanted to stop Mom that night when she left, but Aunt would not let me. Adrian gave a sad laugh, and Clara's eyes went blank.
"She said that it is useless for me to look for my mother because she does not need me and has found someone else," Adrian said.
