Slowly pulling her hand away from his grip, Emily blushed and turned her head.
No matter what she said, Edric would not stop flattering her, and she was finding it difficult to handle this new version of him.
Edric would not stop telling her how much he loved her and how much he was looking forward to winning her back.
As the time passed and the two finished eating the cookies, Emily suddenly asked, "You claimed that you started to doubt me after receiving a text message from an unknown sender. Have you ever tried to find who sent it ?"
Edric looked at Emily for a moment and nodded.
"Unfortunately, the number is no longer in use, and I was never able to identify the person," he replied.
While Edric did attempt to track down the original sender of the text, he began his investigation months after Emily had vanished, so it was too little, too late to get hold of him.
