Soon the food was placed and Emily was surprised to see how attentively Edric picked the meal that matched her taste.
"I hope you enjoy it," he said, and they got to eating right away.
In the middle of their meal, Emily struck up a discussion. "When did you start drinking?" she asked, to which he paused and nervously raised his head to look into her inquiring eyes.
The reason why Edric was anxious to meet her was because of the drunk talk he had with her on the call. Being so open to criticism and forcing her to accept him made him feel ashamed of himself.
But after sobering up and clearing his head, he saw that it was not as simple as he had assumed, Emily would accept him back.
