Edric's audacity left everyone in awe as he showed Emily how much he appreciated her.
Adrian, stunned by his father's remark and having never witnessed him express himself so strongly, cleared his throat.
"All right, now that Dad's here, let us head out," Adrian said, rising from his chair and holding out his hand to Mello.
Taking hold of his hand, Mello climbed off the bed, but not before giving Emily a quick peck on the cheeks before they all departed the hospital.
Silence fell inside the room, with Edric and Emily being the only ones inside, all alone.
"So you finally met our grandson?" Edric broke the silence and spoke, taking the chair next to her bed.
Emily smiled at the thought of finally meeting Mello and bobbed her head. "He is so sweet and kind, just like his father. I remembered how Adrian would also keep on talking, but now he doesn't speak much." As she spoke about it, sadness filled her eyes making Edric regret of his actions.
