After an hour or so, the surgeon eventually left the operating room.
"Doctor, how is she?" Edric was the first one to ask. Clara and Adrian bolted to his side upon hearing him.
"She had a deep cut and was bleeding profusely, but fortunately no organs were harmed and the bleeding could be stopped. She is safe, so do not worry, but make sure she takes as much time off as possible and does not continue lifting large weights."
"Thank you, doctor." Edric breathed a sigh of relief.
"She will be moved to another ward; you all can go and meet her there," the doctor said, with a kind smile before turning to leave.
Adrian closed his eyes, feeling overwhelmed by the words of the doctor, and dropped his shoulders in defeat.
He would've never forgiven himself if anything had happened to Emily. He would be forever haunted by the fact that she died because she saved him.
