Adrian spent some time with Mello after dinner because he wanted to reassure his son that his father would always be there for him and that there was nothing to be afraid of.
Subsequently, Adrian went back to his room to wrap up some unfinished business, and Clara decided to come back after making Mello fall asleep.
Turning on the laptop, Adrian started to work. He wanted to get the work done as soon as possible so that he could go to bed with Clara and they could share a night together.
Adrian quickly typed something on the keyboard, but his attention was diverted when Clara's phone, which was next to the side table, rang.
His gaze shot to the phone at once, and the name he saw on the screen caused a crease in his forehead.
Unknowingly, he reached for the phone and unlocked it before pressing the message open.
'I apologize for not responding to you sooner, but that is okay. We can catch up tomorrow or whenever you are free- Emily'
