"Now, tell me, why did you come?" Vincent turned to face Hazel after stopping the car in front of her house.
"Why did you run that day?" Hazel asked him, clenching the purse in her hand and inhaling deeply before glancing at him.
Her question surprised Vincent, who wondered why she would bring up the subject so frequently. But now that they were sober and willing to communicate, he did not hold back.
"I was afraid," Vincent answered.
Hazel cocked her brow in amusement at his reply and asked," Scared? For what? Do you really think you only had a one-night fling with me?"
Hazel couldn't believe Vincent would come to think that they slept that night. For God's sake, they were fully dressed!
"What am I supposed to do when I find myself in bed with a woman? I panicked, okay," Vincent said in his defense.
