"Oh," Edric replied contently.
However, Emily sighed, leisurely leaned back on the couch, and inquired, "Why did you call?"
Emily didn't want to sound uncomfortable while talking with Edric, letting him know that she was affected by his words and had been constantly thinking of him.
She had long past the stage of getting swayed by anything he said, and now they were nothing but the parents of their son Adrian.
Thinking about her son, Emily later decided to talk with Clara, as it had been a few days since they chatted.
"Um, it's about the attacker. He said the person who hired him didn't know that the plan failed," he said.
Emily finally showed a glimmer of hope as her eyes glistened with delight. "That is great, we will have a chance to find the person," she exclaimed.
