"Come on, call me princess, and I will swipe the card," Hazel repeated, her eyes fixed on Vincent while she swayed her legs like a child.
Vincent felt the impulse to let her go and leave her outside the room, but he snapped when she innocently blinked her eyes, waiting for her wish to be granted.
Vincent sucked in a deep breath, forced a smile, and said, "Princess Hazel, will you open the door for us?"
Vincent's tone of voice was so gentle that it made Hazel smile right away.
"All right," she replied, swiping the card fast to unlock the door and let them into the room at last.
Vincent helped Hazel sit on the couch and looked around when his eyes fell on the table.
"Stay here. I'll bring you water," Vincent said, and he hurried towards the table to quickly fetch her a glass of water. But as soon as he turned around, his eyes flew out of his socket, and he nearly lost his grip on the glass.
