Edric's car stopped in front of Emily's building, and he observed her getting ready to leave.
"You must continue to bandage the wound, and the anesthesia's effects will eventually wear off. Take your medications as soon as you feel pain, because it could get worse. If you want to heal more quickly, do not forget to eat more." Emily looked at Edric as if he had grown horns on his head.
She questioned why, given her overt displays of dislike for him, he was showing her such extra care.
"I know, the doctor has told me everything," she remarked before turning to step out of the car.
Edric cast a gentle glance at Emily. Though he knew there was no justification for him to ask her to wait, he still did not want her to leave yet.
Emily was about to walk into the building when she suddenly heard Edric call her.
"Emily, wait"
She stopped and turned back, only to find Edric sprinting towards her with a bag in his hand.
