"How is this possible? Why are they attempting to distort the facts when we have all the documentation demonstrating that we are the property's owners?" Emily frowned as she read the formal notice from the authorities requesting that their restaurant be demolished because it was constructed on their land.
"No, I can't be wrong. Something is not right, and I have to figure it out quickly." Emily stood up and called the previous landowner whom they had bought the property from; however, the man refused to answer her call.
"Why isn't he picking up the phone?" Emily became agitated and ended the call.
Richard bought the land from Mr. Gomez, the previous landowner, and set up a little eatery for the community. She was certain that Gomez was the only one who could get them out of this challenging circumstance.
