Emily's eyes filled with tears watching her son making his way towards her, and she quickly embraced him.
"Oh, Derek, my son" Emily couldn't help but sob.
"Mom... why do you keep crying whenever I come to meet you both" Derek expressed in agony and pulled back. He hated to see Emily cry and that reminded him of how he didn't deserve to be her son.
Wiping off the tears from her face, Emily smiled and invited him into the house.
"Drake, go keep the luggage inside" informing her young son, Emily joined Derek on the couch.
"You won't understand a mother's emotions when she happens to see her child return home after too long. Do you remember the last you paid a visit to us was last year" Emily complained.
Derek pursed his lips and looked away. That was true, it's been a year since he saw them, but he compensated for it by daily calling her.
