Chapter 22 - The Past Doesn't Matter

The waitress finally arrives at Raven and Caleb's booth with their food. Caleb becomes relieved because he's still not sure about telling Raven the truth about him. After they finished their dinner, Raven wasn't ready for Caleb to leave her, so she asks him if he wants to take a walk with her. Caleb stutters and tells her that he would like that. Although he feels nervous about it, he agrees to walk with her.

They get in his car and drive to his house, he parks his car there, and they get out and start walking. The night sky is clear, the weather is warm and calm, the stars shine bright and the moon is half-full. They walk down the street, Raven keeps looking up at the sky. She loves how the sky looks tonight, it's calming to her. They keep walking further down the street, silently. Caleb is silent because he keeps thinking about when to tell Raven about his life and who he is.

Caleb grabs ahold of Rave's hand and holds it as they keep walking. About ten minutes down the street they near a park. Raven looks at Caleb and asks him if he wants to stop at the park and find a bench to sit on. Caleb quietly replies, "sure."

Raven has been at this park, but Caleb has not. She plays it off like she hasn't because she wants to spend more time with him, she figures it would take them longer to walk the park and find a bench, so she acts like she's never been to this park.

When they arrive at the park, Raven looks around, she acts as if she has never seen this park before. Then she looks at Caleb and asks him if he's been here before. Caleb tells her that he has not and he'd like to hang out here for a bit.

Raven and Caleb walk through the park. They walk down the short, narrow brick sidewalk with tall trees surrounding the walkway. Further, in the park, small purple flowers are looking out through small bushes. As they keep walking they come across a small bridge that crosses over to the other side of the park. The small bridge lays above a dip in the ground, there is no water underneath, just a dip.

After they cross the bridge and are on the other side of the park, they see many more trees and different colored flowers. The walkway is still made of a beautiful red brick. They walk down the red, brick walkway and come to a bench off to their left side. The bench sits just underneath tall trees.

Raven sits down first then Caleb sits beside her. They hold each other's hands and look up at the sky. After a few minutes of them sitting there, Caleb says, "Raven, I'd like to tell you about me and who I am. I'm nervous and I don't know where to start." Raven looks at Caleb and says, "Go ahead. Start anywhere you'd like."

Caleb still sits on the bench quietly, Raven says to him again, "don't be nervous, tell me. It's not like I'm going to run off or be afraid." Caleb looks at Raven with a serious look on his face and says, "Well, you might, that's why I'm nervous." "Just tell me," Raven replied.

After nearly sitting there for five minutes quietly, Caleb blurts out, "I'm a demon. But I'm no longer a mean demon. I quit that a long time ago. I did not want any part of all that, so I went to a medium and had her cast a spell on me, changing me into a better demon. I could not stand hurting people all the time. When I was on the other side of the demons, I had to listen to my master and I no longer wanted to."

"Wait! You mean you're a witch also?" Raven asks.

"Yes. I am. But I'm no longer on the bad side of them," Caleb said.

"OMG. Wow! Why would you think this would scare me away from you?" Raven asks.

"I don't know. I just thought that it would. I have more to tell you," Caleb replied.

"Go ahead," Raven said.

"So, in the meantime, I changed myself, my mom had gotten upset with me. She wanted me to stay as a demon to help her and the warlock who was running us. But I did not and now she has disappeared and I don't know where she is. I have a feeling that I know who she's with, but I'm not certain. When my mom became a witch, she turned into a bad witch and she does not care who she hurts, as long as she has her warlock she will do anything for him," Caleb expressed.

"Okay. So who is your mom and do you want to find her?" Raven asks.

"So, my mom is Circa! Please don't hate me, Raven," Caleb replied.

"OMG. Are you serious? Wait, how come I never knew she has a son? I was her best friend and never knew you even existed!" Raven said.

"My mom always hid me. I was with the warlock most of the time, and she never told anyone about me," Caleb replied.

"WOW! I cannot believe what I am hearing. I am not afraid or anything like that, I am just shocked to hear this," Raven said.

"I am sure you are. It is a lot to take in. I hope you do not quit seeing me because I like you," Caleb said softly.

"Oh, No. I would never do that to you. Your past does not matter to me, what matters to me is how you are now and how you will treat me," Raven said.

Caleb became in shock because he thought the total opposite of what Raven said to him. He was so nervous that she'd leave him, but she's not like that. Caleb now feels so much more relaxed, he's so happy that he finally told Raven who he is and who his mom is.

Caleb leans in towards Raven and kisses her passionately. Now that he knows Raven is okay with him, he makes the moves on her.
