" Mon... We need to... " She was crying, so it was hard to understand what she was saying.
" We... We need to.. "
" Calm down, what happened? " It was reassuring to see her, but it wasn't to see her so terrified.
" We need to run... " As she says so, a scream soon followed from across the hall, directly from where Yang and the others were resting.
What?! Even though my arm was tingling from pain, I ran towards the noise, and pried the door wide open.
" HELP!!! " Kimi who was just resting earlier, was now in the hands of a Shrieker, directly outside the building as it hangs on the side of it.
Yang, Joel and Jodi could only stare at it in shock, as they fail to even hear nor notice any signs of it being that close to them. It was the 35th floor, yet it made it to their place with minimal sounds?
There's only one way that it could've done that. It was already at the roof of the building before we even made it here in the first place.
" HELP!!! " Kimi was still screaming for help, but it wasn't her who screamed this time. Using the same exact voice, the Shrieker copied Kimi's scream before devouring her whole.
" Thi.... What the hell are you guys doing?! RUN! "
" Wha... Shit! Run! " Yang seemed to have regained himself and grabs Jodi and Joel's hands.
The Shrieker tried to reach for them, but thankfully, they were far enough for it to not reach them.
We ran down a level before slowing down to save energy. We were still walking towards the main exit down below.
" What happened!? " Yang shouts now that we were far enough to be calm.
" ARGH! This is! "
" Calm down... It won't be able to enter here. We can slowly walk outside. But that doesn't mean we'll be staying here. We need to get out of here asap. " My arm was tingling so bad, but I couldn't really stop here.
Is this why Kate was so terrified earlier?
" Wait... Kate? You're safe! " Yang finally notices Kate, who was silently crying behind me. He was happy to see her, but his smile vanished the moment he saw her current status.
" Wha... why are you cryin-? " Yang asks Kate, who was had her head down, while holding her elbows.
It was also a question I wanted to ask her, but the Shrieker didn't give me enough time.
" It's not... sniff " Kate speaks up.
" What? "
" It's not safe... "
" What do you mean? Wait. Wait. Where's Rena? " I ask her. Now that I had time to think, where was Rena? Did they get separated? Did she leave her in a safe place? What does she mean it's not safe? It was clear she wasn't thinking clearly right now. I have a weird feeling in my stomach, but I didn't want to think that way.
Wait... Now that I think about it. That Shrieker shouldn't be the reason why Kate was so scared in the first place. It came from the roof, and Kate should've come from here. The first level... Far away from where the roof is.
" We need to go... " I lead them to the back door of the building, leading to the narrow alleys behind.
" No!!! " A terrifying scream enters our ears before we were able to reach the door to the back.
At first, I thought it was someone in the party, but as I turn my back towards them. I could see the familiar Crow head, peaking through the entrance of the building.
" Shit, we need to go. Go! Go now! " I lead them all to the back alley, with Kate being leaded by Yang as she was too scared for her own good.
" no... no... please... " Kate mutters.
" No!!! " It screeches in a woman's voice. It was a familiar voice, but it was breaking here and there, so it was hard to say who it killed.
" That Shrieker... " She points towards the peeking Crow in the main entrance.
... don't tell me.
Before Kate fully exits the building, she mutters something that made my heart fall to my stomach.
" I'm sorry... Young Miss Rena! " She screams in grief before she got dragged out by Yang.
That voice...
No wonder it felt familiar.

...
My head hurts...
Anger and grief filled my head. It was so overbearing that I couldn't even feel the stinging pain in my arm.
Why? Why am I so mad?
I met these people a week ago. Why am I acting like this?
Am I a hero?
Am I pretending to be a hero?
Why do I feel so angry about the lives of people I hanged out with, just last week?
Did my past make me too scared to lose someone even though they weren't close friends?
Did it make me too attached to someone I met last week?
Was I easily attached? Or am I simply too scared.
...
Were they just too nice that It didn't feel like I only spent a week with them.
I don't know, it feels hot. My head was burning.
...
My eyes weren't working clearly. I'm seeing black smoke everywhere. Is someone burning something? Am I seeing the reaper?
...
I don't know... My head hurts too much.
The only thing that filled my head were Rena's words on how I treat my friends.
How do I treat my friends again? How do I treat my enemies?
...
...
Why...
Why...
Why, Why?! Why? Why the fuck does everything leave me?!
...
...
" Mon. Calm down... " Yang looks at the tall figure in front of him.
Yang heard what Kate said, and he also assembled what had happened already.
He was trying to call for him, but he doesn't seem to realize that Mon couldn't hear nor see anything. He was fully unconscious, but his body was still standing.
Yang would've grabbed him already, if not for the thick black smoke escaping from his body. His eyes were dull as if he zoned out, but a hint of violet flare was tracing his pupils, glowing through the black smoke.
But the main reason why they can't approach him is that they couldn't help but feel the surrounding area to be a lot heavier than normal. It wasn't any mind tricks, it literally felt like gravity was stronger near him.

Why?...
