Taylor had rounded up enough wood to fix his bed and tied them up with his rope. He then lifted them up onto his shoulder and looked up.
".... bad day for rain to show up"
Thick, dark clouds were condensing in the air above. It looked like it would not be long before a powerful downpour came about.
If it had been any other time, he would be happy to have rain however, the condition of his home was very bad and if he didn't fix it before the pending heavy rain came, he would surely have to stay all night rebuilding it since it's condition wasn't genteel enough to withstand it.
He then decided to go and start fixing the faulty places fast before a single drop of rain could drop.
So, with the same speed he had ran to come at the mountain, he dashed back leaving a huge crater in his wake.
*Boom!*
"My sh*t!" The golden haired man who was the sole witness of the incredible spectacle couldn't help but curse when he saw it.
The golden haired man like all blessed ones had three abilities. His strongest ability was defence followed by slow-time-perception and then Telekinesis. His second ability called slow-time-perception made him see things in slow motion when activated. With this ability, he could even defend against bullets when he combined it with his defense power.
However, when he wanted to use that skill on Taylor, his power failed to activate which was the first. Never once had such a thing happened at least according to what he knew.
"Could it be..?" He thought that he had lost his power and activated his third skill, telekinesis, and raised his hand.
Contrary to his thoughts, he had not lost his abilities which was a big relief.
"Whew!" He released a heavy breath and looked in the direction Taylor had run off. His eyes looking like those of an assassin looking at his target through the sniper lense. No matter what, he wanted to find that person again and ask some serious questions.
He refused to believe that that the immortal-like man who had just left had no involvement in the failure of the deployment of his power.
'This is no coincidence'

........IN DC.....
At the core of DC, there was a a big building about 50floars high. The glasses were all tinted in a beautiful black color and we're spotlessly clean.
The interior of the building was more beautiful. The floors were marbled and the walls were painted black.
On the top floor, there was only one office which covered up the entire top space. It was more like a house than an office actually since it had almost everything a house should have.
In the office part, there were four people. A slightly aged man who looked to be in his middle 50s was the one occupying the master seat while the rest were seated on other good chairs but paled in comparison to the one the old man occupied.
"So, Mr James, have you brought what i asked you?" The old man was the dirst to speak.
"Yes sir" a man who looked to be in his middle forties replied with a small nervous smile. He had gray hair which was mixed up with white from old age and a perfectly trimmed beard.
He took a small exquisite briefcase from under the table and handed it over to the old man.
After receiving the briefcase, the oldman opened it and almost got blinded by the golden light that shone from within. He closed his eyes waiting for the extravagant setting to die down.
*sigh*
"You still do this nonsense at your age James?" The oldman looked at James who was scratching the back of his head from embarrassment.
"Norm sir"
"....."
"..."
"..."
...............
*sigh*
With yet again another sigh, the oldman chose to ignore James and looked at the contents of the briefcase.
"Wow, I'm sure my daughter and that aloof son-in-law of mine will like these rings"
Two rings shining in golden brilliance were in the briefcase. They looked identical and attractive to any eye as if they had been crafted by an immortal using his otherworldly materia.
"!!!!"
Everyone in the room was shocked. They looked at the oldman with eyes as big as saucers and mouths that were wide enough for a grown man's fist to pass.
"Hmm?," The oldman noticed the shock on their faces and spoke, "Although these rings are the best in the whole world and are made from the only spirit stone ever found in the world, I didn't expect people of your statuses to look like kids who had just seen candy"
The old man was disappointed especially with his assistant since he was the one who had groomed him.
"I'm sir, we weren't shocked by the rings actually" One of them clarified prompting the old man to look at him with confusion on his face.
"I don't know if I had heard wrong but, did you say that you have a son-in-law?"
Everyone including the assistant of the oldman looked at him.
"Yes, for a few months now"
"...."
The people in the room got even more shocked when they heard that the old man's daughter had been married for a long time now. James was a well known jewellery maker and enjoyed prestige and connections from big families so surely, if the wedding had happened, someone would have tipped him off of it.
He couldn't believe that he had missed an opportunity to meet the son-in law of the world's third richest man.
He could have made connections with him for the future.
He could have made connections with the inheritor of a multi billionaire making his grand entrance into the top community.
But, all he could do now was sigh at his own helplessness.
.........
The old man looked at his assistant and spoke:
"Prepare my car, i want to go home now and see my son-in law and hopefully too, my daughter with a huge stomach"
"Aren't you forgetting about your other daughter sir?" The assistant asked while slightly rolling his eyes. But he was also curious about the great son-in-law that was being praised left and right by the oldman.
"Ohh" The old man made an expression of realization and then added, "While on our way, lets buy a present for her birthday"
*Sigh*
"Yes sir" The assistant sighed when he saw the old man forgetting about his other daughter. But it was his job to remind his boss whenever he forgot something. Moreover, given the old man's current age, it wasn't surprising that he tends to forget about some things....
.....right?..
