Pearl's POV:
Sitting in my car, all 24 years of my life, flashed in front of my eyes. It felt like just yesterday, I was dreaming of my very own prince charming, who will come and sweep me off my feet. He will look at my eyes and confess his undying love for me.
I got everything I wished for except the only thing that I desired with my whole heart. Everyone thought that my arranged husband was a prince. But they all failed to see behind that handsome face, to see him for the monster he is. In the world's eye, he was the perfect man a girl can wish for but in reality he was anything but that.
When I was first informed that I was engaged to him, I didn't even know what that actually means. I asked my mother about that and her answer only confirmed that fairytales do exist. If only I knew how wrong she was.
Flashback:
"Mamma, Armin said, from now on I'm Ryan's fiancée. Does that mean I'm going to marry him soon?" I asked my mother with tear glazed eyes.
