Chapter 16 - Chapter 6: Unveiled

This b****d!

My finger clicked the buttons on my keyboard vigorously as I tried to kill my opponent. Only one person left and my whole team was depending on me. Usually, I couldn't care less for people's feelings but this team helped me reach the level I am now.

Why didn't I have this much fun before?

Shooting and killing people was different now. The world was peaceful and people shot and killed people in games. These games gave a highly immersive experience; This game was incredibly realistic. Technology has advanced a lot since it was discovered.

I was almost winning. One shot is all it takes. The opponent was skilled but my reaction speed was far beyond their imagination so I did what any normal person would do. I hacked into their computer and stole their files. I then deleted the game on their computer which then made my team win.

I cheered for myself and my lack of morality until my phone started to ring. I was caught off guard and I accidentally smashed my phone by punching it out of a sudden reaction. My desk also broke so now I need to buy a new desk and a new phone. Fortunately, my monitor was fine and the files I stole from my opponent were also fine.

I let out a sigh of relief when I checked to see if my monitor was damaged in any way. I then exited my dormitory and went to the reception of the school which was far if I ran. After a few seconds, I reached the reception and I asked them to repair my phone. It only took a few hundred to repair it.

I then turned on my phone to see what alarmed me that caused me to break it in the first place. Displayed on my lock screen was Akito's contact. It said that he had called me five minutes ago. I hadn't forgotten about our rendezvous. I checked the time to see that it was time for the meeting.

It wouldn't take long if I run but what if someone sees? If I run that fast then people wouldn't even be able to see my face.

I then ran to somewhere near the cafe. I then walked to the cafe to see Akito and Kaori already sitting down. I walked towards them to see Akito smiling at my presence Kaori tried to avoid eye contact but she tried to catch glimpses of me as she played with her phone.

"You're still in your school uniform?" Akito said as he looked at what I was wearing.

Akito was wearing a black shirt and black jeans. Kaori on the other hand wore a white short-handed shirt and a blue miniskirt. I never understood fashion but it seemed to be something all extroverts knew and were born with the ability to dress well.

"I was playing games after the tutoring session until you called. I also broke my phone so I had to get that repaired for a few hundred yen." I said. "So why did you call us out here?" Kaori's attention switched from her phone to Akito's.

"It seems Kaori-chan is interested." Akito said, teasing Kaori.

"Don't call me that." Kaori growled.

"Why? Tadashi calls you that." Akito said.

"Then I'll call you Aki-chan." I almost burst out laughing after I heard that. That was a good move, Kaori-chan. Akito didn't say anything after that so I guess he accepted his fate as "Aki-chan".

"So what did you call us here for?" I said, breaking the tension.

"Oh yeah, I have made up my mind." Akito said. Kaori looked at me as I looked at her both thinking the same thing. "I'm going to ask Harumi out."

Kaori then looked at me as we both sighed. We both knew what Akito would've said but we still had hope that he didn't say it.

"Aki-chan, have you really thought about it?" Kaori said.

"Yes I have." Akito said as he looked up at the sky, watching the stars.

"Look down here, don't make this more cliché than it already is." Kaori said. "If you're going to ask her out then you should wait a bit longer. Try make her fall deeply in love with you then ask her out."

"Well I wait too long then I might lose the opportunity."

Akito was determined to ask Harumi out but Kaori tried to make him delay it. Delaying it would benefit me and it would create more opportunities for all of us in different ways but all of those depended on this.

"Akito, I'm sure you are aware of the fitness exam that will take place on Friday. Try to impress her there." I said. Suggesting the fitness exam to increase Harumi's likeability for Akito would work. It will increase the chances of Harumi accepting and it delays their relationship.

"You are smart after all!" Kaori exclaimed with sarcasm. "Jokes aside, that is a good idea."

Akito then thought of which idea was more logical. If he asks Harumi out now then there is a chance that she might not say "yes" which then ruins their relationship entirely. Then there is my idea where he tries to make Harumi fall for him. This would decrease his chances of rejection.

"I'll go with Tadashi's then." Akito said. "I need help because I want to work out for that day. We still have four days so I want to work out for those four days."

"Four days of hardcore training will be harder than you think if you want results quickly." I said. "I'll give you a list of what to do." I made a list before for Akito but it seems that it can be used now. It was adjusted to Akito's abilities.

With it, Akito would become strong but not in the top ten because that would take longer than four days.

"Thanks, Tadashi." Akito said. "That's all I wanted to say." I feared that might be the case. I couldn't do anything because the cafe was closed. "I don't have the equipment for it though."

That was also one of my problems. I didn't lack the money to buy equipment, it was just that online you can't get much.

"You guys do know there is a gym." Kaori said. Her words were miracles. If there was a gym that I could use it would save me a lot. "We can go there tomorrow after school."

"That's fine by me." They then looked at me to see if I could come. As much as I would want to avoid people there was also this opportunity that I couldn't let go of. I could finally have my strength from back then and become even stronger.

"I'll come as well." I sighed.

* * * * * *

It was magnificent. After all this time it was sitting here. The gym. I could finally test my current strength now without breaking anything or killing anyone.

"It's so big!" Akito exclaimed. Akito wore a white polo shirt and shorts and held a bag on his shoulders. Kaori wore leggings and shorts and a white t-shirt and a jersey. She had also tied her hair in a ponytail.

"How did you guys not know about this?" There were problems with the school map or else I would've known about this. "How come you're wearing all black today as well, Tadashi-kun? Why aren't you wearing shorts? It's a hot day."

Speak for yourself, Kaori-chan. I have taken notice of how my legs look and unlike normal people, they scream "I can run 200mph" which I don't want. I didn't say.

"I felt cold. It might feel hot but it's still cold for me." I replied. "Let's go in then."

It didn't surprise me that the gym was almost half full. The number of people that were there scared me. I then found some first-years from our class were also there. I tried to make Akito not socialise for once but I was too late.

"Oh, Kishimoto-san!" One of the students called out to Akito. They then came towards us and looked at us almost as if they were judging us. "Oh, Tsukamoto-san, I never expected you to be here."

Where would you expect me to be then?

"Asagiri-san!" Another student called.

It seems that Kaori was popular amongst the first years because of her looks. She was popular, sociable, and good looking so I guess that's what made her even more popular. On the outside, I look like an introvert who has been adopted by these two extroverts to engage in activities with the world. Surprisingly, that is exactly what is going on but I am here to work out.

"Hey, I know what's a good idea. How about you guys try and see who can lift the heaviest!" Kaori suggested. Whenever you make anything a competition, no matter what man you are, as long as you are a man you will participate in whatever competition comes your way. I should've backed out when I had the chance because now I was being pulled by the other students to join in as well.

Five dumbbells were used. The first is 10kg, the second is 20kg, the third is 40kg, the fourth is 50kg, and the last is 75kg. It was almost certain that no one would go even past the third dumbbell with the average being 25kg.

I looked at Kaori as she looked back at me with evil eyes. She didn't even try to hide her smirk as she knew what position she put me in. She wanted to see how I would act when I try to hide my strength.

"I'll go first then!" One student said. That student was surprisingly strong as he curled the third dumbbell but struggled with the fourth. "Whoever goes past this gets to order everyone here for a whole week!"

A week? That almost seems too easy yet so hard.

All five of the students failed to even curl the third dumbbell. Now it was Akito's turn. It was time to see how strong he was. Akito curled the first one with ease and he did the same with the second. Now was the third. Akito lifted the third and then curled it. Everyone cheered loudly for Akito as he barely did the fourth. There was no way he could do the fifth so he told everyone that that was his limit. Everyone had to respect the man's honesty.

Now was my turn. I'm sure everyone knew of my lack of strength. Some may think that I would struggle with the first but I didn't. The second was the same and the third wasn't any better. I did the fourth with ease and everyone became silent as they watched me do it with ease.

"What?" I said as I looked at their perplexed expressions. I knew exactly what they were thinking and I smiled a bit. "I never said I was weak, I am just slow with little to no stamina."

I then lifted the fifth but I tried to act as I struggled. If I curled 75kg with ease then it would cause a lot of rumours. I'm sure struggling with 75kg is enough to keep their minds blown for the week.

"I guess that means you guys are my slaves." I said to everyone as they still tried to process what just happened. "Or do you want to do another challenge with money?"

The other students reluctantly agreed. We then put in a thousand yen each. While that seemed low to me, whoever won it won seven thousand yen for free.

The first challenge was to see who could deadlift the 280kg dumbbells that were used as a competition. The first one was hesitant at first but after he gripped his hands on the bar, he lifted it with his strength but he couldn't even get it off the ground. All of the students who came after failed. Now it was Akito. Akito gripped the bar with his hands and lifted it. It went an inch into the air before Akito threw it on the floor.

They all struggled for this light thing.

Everyone watched as it was now my turn. People in the gym stopped to see if I was able to do it. I held the bar and lifted it slowly. Slowly it lifted off the ground. I acted as if I was struggling because lifting 280kg was no normal feat. I lifted it above my knees before dropping it onto the floor. Everyone's faces were flabbergasted as something that they couldn't move off the ground an inch was lifted a foot off the ground by someone they never expected to be so strong.

"It's not done there!" A student yelled as he brought out a grip strength measurement meter from his bag.

Oh shit.

My grip strength was something I couldn't control completely. Lifting weights didn't need much acting but faking your grip strength needed a lot of concentration and control. I had the concentration but no matter how much I try to suppress it I could never control it.

Normal grip measurement meters have a maximum of 150kg. I would exceed that without trying but I had to get between 75kg-90kg so that my full strength won't be known. The average grip strength is from 50kg to 60kg. If I get 75kg then that's easily classified as above average so I shouldn't get any more than that.

The first student got 67kg which is still average but could be above average. The next student got 56kg, and the one after got 54kg. All the students didn't go past 67kg.

"Haha! I was the best so far!"

"Don't get your hopes high, Kitamura-kun, it's my turn." Akito said as he held the grip strength measurement meter in his hand. He used all his strength to grip it. The numbers increased only going higher and higher. The numbers couldn't be seen as they only went higher. The numbers then slowed down. Then the numbers stopped. "82.4kg."

"82!" The students cheered. They all then looked at me.

Even better. They are all staring at me.

Akito gave me the grip trainer measurement meter. I then looked at Akito as he looked at me with an expression that said "Don't break it".

"Do your best Tadashi-kun!" Kaori said as everyone else cheered along with her.

I was about to show everyone my strength but someone saved me.

"Tsukamoto-san?" Everyone looked to see who was there and to my surprise, it was Nakamoto and Shimoda Yamada. This might look like she had saved me but all she did was bring more eyes.

"Nakamoto-san? Oh you're here." I tried my best to sound excited to see her. "What are you doing here?"

"We were just walking past and then we saw a bunch of people huddled in a circle so we came to see what it was and it was you!"

Why do you sound surprised when you see me? I only saved you once and it wasn't really that much as well.

I then realised the person I was talking to. After all Nakamoto, Shimoda and Yamada were popular in this school and I have been talking to Nakamoto as if we were friends.

"Nakamoto-san, you know Tsukamoto-kun?"

When the hell did we become friends, Kitamura-san?

"Of course, I know Tsukamoto-kun, after all, we are lovers."

"WHAT!" Everyone yelled including myself and the two behind Nakamoto.

"I'm obviously joking." Nakamoto said. "We're beyond lovers at this point."

How much longer do you plan to destroy the peace I have, Nakamoto-san?

"UEHARA-KUN FAINTED!" A boy yelled as we all turned out attention to the unconscious student on the floor.

"Anyways what were you guys doing?" Shimoda asked. Her tone was serious as always; a perfect candidate for the student council.

"We were just doing a competition with weights and grip strength." Akito replied.

"Yoshio-kun, you can do this can't you?" Nakamoto said.

Yamada sighed as he went to the dumbbells. He looked at the dumbbells almost as if he was searching for the right one. He then held the fifth dumbbell and lifted it, then he put it back. He then walked towards me and held out his hand. He asked for the grip strength measurement meter and held it. He then showed everyone his result. He then gave the grip strength measurement meter back to me and left the gym as if nothing had happened.

"You're joking…126.8kg! As expected for our leader!"

That is impressive. Yamada's grip strength was more than double the average.

"Oh, Tadashi, you haven't done yours." Akito said.

I looked at the thing that would be used to decide my fate. I then gripped it with a little bit of strength and the numbers were already rising with almost no end. I then stopped my hand from gripping any more and it stopped. I then showed Akito my result.

"88.6kg! You're really strong, Tsukamoto-kun!" Kitamura-san said as everyone else cheered for my result.

After the whole "competition", everyone went to a restaurant. Kaori and I stayed back to bring the others' bags as they ordered food.

"You know they're going to karaoke." Kaori said.

"Karaoke. I haven't gone to that yet."

"Really? You've never been to a karaoke?"

"Yeah."

"That's not that surprising considering how you are." Kaori said. I didn't say anything as it was true and this would only bring us closer which would benefit me. "That was a nice act you put up there."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't act as if you tried. I've seen your strength once before and I could tell you don't really have a grip strength of 88kg." I didn't try to deny it because Kaori knew. She then got the grip strength measurement meter out from a bag and gave it to me. "I want to see your actual strength."

"I guess showing it to one person is fine." I said as I held the grip strength measurement meter in my hand only this time I tried. The numbers increased so fast it wasn't visible. The numbers then seemed to look like letters now. It broke. I didn't stop and I used my full strength. The meter then broke in my hands as the pieces dropped onto the floor. "You're the one who wanted to see."

"DON'T PUT THE BLAME ON ME!!" Kaori yelled. The broken pieces of the meter were still on the floor and right now we needed to replace or fix this as soon as possible. "After all you are the one who broke it in the first place."

"I can remove my fingerprints and replace them with yours." I said. Kaori's eyes then widened but they then went back to their original size as she stared at me as if she doubted whether I could or not. "Don't try to doubt the things I can do."

"Well what the hell are we supposed to do now?" Kaori complained as we both stared at the broken pieces of the meter on the ground. Kaori then turned her head to where I am standing. "Should we just tell him it felt on the ground?"

"How would it break just by falling?" I said. "We can buy another one or just act as if nothing happened."

"Okay but if anyone asks we don't know where it is."

We left it as that and went to where the others were.
