"So, did it work?" Faith asked, concerned for her husband's safety.
"Just wait a second." Gerard wiped the sweat from his face and rested against the bed.
Gerard breathed raggedly, and several minutes passed before the elf opened his eyes. He looked around the room in confusion.
"Faith, dear, what's happened?"
"Melein!" Faith, without her usual composure and stoicism, dove onto the elf.
"Faith, please tell me."
"This human here just granted you a second chance!"
"But... My illness?" Melein softly nudged Faith off him and stood up.
The moment the elf's eyes met with his previous body, they widened.
