Kristine got to her taxi first and waited for Sam to come out.
The moment she saw Sam exit the motel, she hurriedly came out to the taxi to reach Sam, but she bumped into a lady who was on her way into the motel by accident, and in that brief second, she lost her concentration on Sam as she apologized to the lady and checked if she was alright.
But Sam had already reached his truck.
Then she noticed in passing as Sam entered his truck and was driving out of the parking lot.
Therefore, Kristine returned back to her taxi and demanded Sam be followed in a hurry. But this time around, the driver wasn't as discreet in his chase as before when he nearly lost Sam when a car suddenly blocked their path.
And Kristine's anxiousness intensified, added to her desperate call to the driver to hurry.
As the taxi driver drove to bypass the cars blocking his view from Sam's truck in a hurry, the act called Sam's attention when he glanced into his mirror and noticed the taxi.
Moreover, he realized he had seen this taxi a long time back. Suddenly, his suspicions began to wander upon whether the taxi was tailing him all this time.
Could the person inside the taxi be tailing him, seriously? And who could that be?
Sam realized he couldn't afford to waste more time now since he was on his way to meet with the person sent to pick him up, so he could finally meet the boss.
Therefore, he increased the speed of his truck to avoid the taxi if it was indeed tailing him as he assumed.
And true to Sam's suspicions, he confirmed the taxi was tailing him when he suddenly took a wrong turn away from the main street to test them.
"Maam! I think he just figured we are tailing him. He is trying to avoid us." The driver uttered as he moved toward the route Sam took, but he had to U-turn since Sam swerved suddenly to another path.
"It doesn't matter now, just make sure you don't lose him." Kristine responded fiercely.
And that's all it took for the chase to be triggered when the driver used his years of experience and shortcuts to finally catch up with Sam's truck.
"Oh shit!" Sam hissed when he realized the taxi was behind him so he further increased his speed level to clear from the taxi's sight.
But unluckily for him, he had to stop for a new envelope to replace the one he destroyed when he opened the package Jason handed him, so that nobody will notice he snooped inside to check its contents.
To make matters worse, he needed to refill his tank which has been buzzing with warning signals due to diesel shortage.
Then suddenly, his car stopped in the middle of an empty road he took during his shortcuts to outrun the taxi behind him.
Sam kept sparking the car to restart but it seemed impossible now, a realization that increased his tension as the taxi moved to block his way in front of his truck.
Out of nowhere, Kristine barged out of the taxi and Sam's head began to spin from duress.
"Kristine? What was Rhea's sister doing here in Riley State? So she was the one tailing him all this time? What does she want from me?." Sam thought to himself.
But he didn't like the expression he was witnessing on Kristine's face. It spelled trouble.
Rhea must have told her sister about everything that happened, and knowing Kristine's overprotective nature like Jason warned him in the past, he figured she wasn't here to make peace. He will surely be dead now if he gets caught by her.
Especially with the fierce dangerous aura she exuded in her steps as she approached him. Sam's first instant instinct was to lock all the doors of his truck.
"Open up, Sam! open! before I lose the rest of my patience." Kristine roared angrily as she held unto the car handle to force the door open.
"What do you want from me? And why have you been tailing me?" Sam yelled to be heard.
But this only increased Kristine's anger.
"And he had the nerve to ask that. Suddenly going for the innocent act!" Kristine uttered inaudibly and ignored Sam's replies and continued fiddling with the door handle forcefully.
"I said open up! While I am still being nice. What I want to know is what you did to Rhea. What the hell did you and Jason do to her in camp?" Kristine released her frustrations as she banged her foot into the car after her unsuccessful attempts to force it open.
"I didn't do anything..It was Jason! not me. Believe me, it's all Rhea's misunderstanding..." Sam desperately argued to get Kristine off his back, but instead, his response rather triggered the opposite reaction from Kristine.
Kristine moved as if to break the glass window with her fists.
She retraced her steps back to shove the door open with her shoulder, then ended up punching her fists hard on the glass door which had traces of cracks.
This unnerved Sam and he took the envelope and held it tightly to himself before he moved to the opposite side of the other door to escape.
His successful attempts to escape out of his truck led him into the hands of the taxi driver who came out to help Kristine apprehend Sam.
But Sam was quick enough to push him aside and make a run for it with Kristine at his heels.
During the intense chase, Sam turned to see how far Kristine was behind him when he was suddenly met with a flying kick to his jaw which he clutched in pain. But he recovered quickly and continue running, still holding tightly to the envelope to his chest.
But Kristine moved to hold his hand and twisted it so tightly that Sam groaned in pain, she flipped Sam to the ground and pinned him as she took a comfortable stance above him.
"What were you saying? That you have no idea what happened to Rhea? I want you to tell me every detail about what Jason did to Rhea and how you helped him, or else I would make sure you lose your arm." Kristine threatened ferociously.
"Okay, okay, let go first. I can't talk in this position. It hurts! ouch!" Sam convinced, then winced when Kristine pressed further to inflict more pain.
"The truth, Sam! Not your lies or your made-up stories. What would you have done if someone had done the same to your sister, Thea." Kristine uttered suddenly.
This caught Sam's attention and he wondered how Kristine knew of Thea.
For all he knew she was only tailing him in her taxi, since she wouldn't have known about Thea since he was in the Motel the entire time, and Thea never came out.
"You followed me into the motel too? How did you know Thea was my sister.." Suddenly a realization kicked into Sam's mind.
"Did you eavesdrop on us? How? What did you hear?" Sam was suddenly curious about what Kristine heard relating to everything he and Thea talked about in the room.
"Oh, I heard lots of things. I heard everything about your heated conversation. But I won't tell you until you tell me what you did to my sister." Kristine lied.
She barely heard the important discussion, just minor comments here and there that she couldn't make up.
She couldn't even understand almost half of the pieces she heard apart from a few.
Starting from the lawyer aspects, the crying, and the screams. She barely heard anything important to hold against Sam so she had to lie to get him talking.
"Okay! I will tell you. Let me go first!." Sam seemed serious now.
So Kristine let go of him since she thought they came to an understanding. But instead, Sam made a run for it immediately after Kristine let go of him.
His desperate aim was to make it to his house so he could begin to embark on his face-to-face meeting with Ray Valdez, which seemed to be his only focus at the moment.
He can't afford to waste more time discussing their camping incidents with an obsessed over-protective sister of Rhea.
Moreover, he knew Kristine would only waste his time and she wouldn't let go of him even if he confessed truthfully to what he did to Rhea. She would be more violent than she was currently doing at the moment once she found out what actually happened.
Moreover, she wouldn't let things go easily too.
Meanwhile, Kristine regretted the moment she let go of him when she saw Sam running towards the main road. She scoffed in anger for being played again then resume her chase to follow behind him.
Thank God, she chose to wear sneakers instead of her own shoes or she would have been lacking behind in this situation.
This time around, the moment she caught up with Sam, she descended all sorts of kicks and punches with her fists and foot, and Sam was wincing in extreme pain, pleading to let go of him.
He still wouldn't give up on his desperate attempts to escape despite all his continuous pleadings.
Sam once again had another opportunity to successfully escape when she turned sharply upon the taxi driver's loud scream to call her attention and watch out for an approaching car that almost run into both her and Sam.
In a flash, Kristine let go of Sam and moved out of the way towards the opposite side to give way to the car. Sam also rolled to the other side, hence, the car hovered between her and Sam.
Kristine moved around the car to chase Sam who stood up and made a run for it, seeing this opportunity.
Unfortunately, she was too late when Sam took an abandoned bicycle parked on the pavement and paddled his way out of her reach.
All in his fruitful hurry to get far and far away from her.
Kristine found herself running behind a speeding Sam on a cycle. She simply couldn't afford to lose him now, since she doesn't know when she would catch him again.
Therefore, she didn't even mind as she continued chasing behind him in the middle of an empty road.
It was a quiet road with the night breeze getting stronger since it was mixed with strong waves as if to welcome a heavy downpour of rain.
She followed Sam with determination until her exhaustion kicked in when she paused to stare in horror as Sam rode farther and far away from her.
And he even turned to smirk at her when he realized he had safely escaped beyond her reach.
Kristine bent down with her hands to her knees as she raised one hand to clear the sweat that piled on her forehead and dripped across her chin, to hold her breaths from all the running.
Then suddenly, something caught her attention, she noticed Sam drop something from the envelope Jason handed him, which he clutched to himself all this time as if it was his life.
In her haste to pick it up, she lost concentration and didn't see it when an approaching car ahead at a top speed was moving directly towards her.
But before Kristine could move to pick up what Sam dropped in the middle of the road and even make out the bright light from the car's headlights, and move out of its way, she ended up getting hit by Eric's car on his way back from his birthday party.
Moments after Kristine's accident, Sam returned to retrace his steps back to his car when he noticed that an item from the contents of the envelope was missing.
Hence, he retraced his steps in search of it when he came across a pile of blood at the spot he last saw Kristine after his successful escape. Then he got worried and wondered whether something bad happened to Kristine there.
That was part of the reasons why he had been calling and texting Rhea nonstop to find out if Kristine was safe.
But Rhea wasn't picking up or reading any of his texts, which was quite expected.
Especially after what he did to her, and all she had been through at the hands of Jason.
Until now, he couldn't find the item he dropped, nor did he find out what happened to Kristine, so he had no option but to call Jason for help, out of desperation.
Sam reported to Jason about his encounter with Kristine.
Moreover, to save himself and his mission towards meeting the Boss, and also prevent his guilt in the misplacement of a vital information from the envelope, Sam realized he had no option but to blame Kristine.
Therefore, his reports to Jason were to accuse Kristine of snatching the package out of his hands, and how she hit him. Then ended up taking an important piece that was currently missing...The Pendrive!
Just to cover his attempts in snooping into the content, and save the rest of his mission.
