Pansy was in a very bad mood, possibly because Malfoy had tricked her into dating other girls, and she was still the muddy person she despised the most.
She was so upset that she didn't even want to go to the Halloween dinner. Instead, she sulked in the female dormitory in Slytherin, using a quill pen to vent her frustration by scribbling on a piece of paper. The feather on the pen was almost worn out.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
"I won't accept an apology so easily," Pansy thought to herself as she reluctantly got up from the chair at the table and put on a cold expression.
This time it's a matter of principle, it's not so easy to fool me," she thought, already coming up with various scenarios in her mind.
She seems to have forgotten that boys aren't allowed in the female dormitories.
When Pansy opened the door, she saw a pair of front teeth.
"Is this a demonstration?" Pansy asked, not waiting for an apology. She was waiting for the type of mud she hated most, and her face looked even colder.
Before Pansy could say anything more, Hermione interrupted her. "Draco is going to deal with the monster by himself. He needs you to help him."
Hermione's face was full of anxiety and she was still breathing heavily, as if she had run over in a hurry.
"What does that have to do with me?" Pansy was surprised, but her expression showed that she didn't want to be involved.
"It's a monster," Hermione explained, gesturing with her hand.
"It's powerful, dumb, and ferocius. First-year students can't handle it. I noticed you weren't in the restaurant and Draco's face didn't look good. Professor Quirrell then rushed in and said he found a monster. Malfoy's face changed as soon as he heard it and he rushed out immediately."
"How do you know he's looking for me?" Pansy's tone had become panicked, and she had already believed Hermione's words to be true, but she was still trying to keep herself under control.
"You!" Hermione was a little speechless. "Isn't it because of you two are close friends?"
"I'm going to see Professor McGonagall, you wait here," Hermione said, clearly frustrated with Pansy's response. She spoke vigorously and walked outside.
"Maybe he just wanted to get the limelight," Pansy said, her tone becoming weaker as if she had made up her mind. Despite this, she still followed Hermione.
"This is definitely a shame," Pansy thought bitterly behind Hermione.
"It's all your fault, Malfoy, so please be okay." Despite her anger, there was still concern about gaining the upper hand, and a hint of sweetness in these concerns
"He took such a big risk for me. I will forgive him if he is fine."
The subsequent plot involved the two seeking help from Professor McGonagall, but Hermione remained calm and directed several professors. When Pansy arrived in the hall, she was infected by everyone's fear at the thought of Malfoy's head being smashed by the monster. Her eyes turned red. Afterwards, Professor McGonagall took the time to comfort her, despite Pansy's crying.
But now, Pansy sees that Malfoy is doing well and even "hooked up" with a girl who appeared to have a better figure than her own. Pansy felt that her feelings had been ignored.
"Thank you for your help," Cho Chang said quickly, sensing that the atmosphere was a bit tense.
There was a moment of silence.
'Be the first to be strong,'
Malfoy said, analyzing the situation and walking over to pat Pansy on the head.
"You're be fine."
In fact, after spending a long time together, people come to understand each other better. After several years of being together, Malfoy had a good understanding of Pansy's character: two words. Despite her sharp tongue, she gets angry easily but also cools down quickly.
Looking at Hermione, it's easy to miss the fact that she is actually very proud when it comes to her areas of expertise and doesn't allow any doubts. Didn't the previous conflict with Harry and Ron stem from this?
"I... I haven't forgiven you, let me go," Pansy whispered.
Pansy felt that the current situation between the two seemed a bit reversed, with her coming to rescue Malfoy, but now she was the one being comforted. She decided to give Malfoy a small lesson.
"Ow!" Malfoy felt a sudden pain in his shoulder and couldn't help but take a breath. His hand also loosened at the same time.
"This bite is punishment, sparing you for taking a risk for me," Pansy said, showing off her white teeth with pride.
"I really doubt that you have the talent of an Animagus. If you do, it must be a dog," Malfoy complained as he rubbed his shoulders.
Pansy glared at him again.
"Okay, I won't say it anymore," Malfoy said, spreading his hands and stopping the topic.
"Let's go back to the restaurant," he suggested. "The smell here is too bad."
Pansy nodded gently.
This marked the end of the monster incident. However, Malfoy still had a headache because when he arrived at the restaurant, he also had to endure Pansy's endless torture.
Just because she had forgiven him didn't mean she wasn't going to make him pay. So at the end of the banquet, Malfoy finally breathed a sigh of relief. Today's events had been too much for him.
"This young master tired today," Malfoy thought to himself as he returned to his bedroom and fell asleep quickly on the bed. That was the last conscious thought in his head.
