Chapter 4 - They Seem To Be Very Afraid Of Me

Feeling better, Zhu Lin put the rabbit on her shoulder. She held the sword and left. With the help of the red moonlight, Zhu Lin was able to see the surrounding situation more clearly.

The streets were stained with blood, and there were also many abandoned vehicles. Some vehicles still had bodies inside that looked like they had been eaten, while other vehicles were charred and still emitting smoke.

Walking cautiously among the mess, Zhu Lin could hear the howling and roaring of some kind of beast from time to time. In the middle of the night, that kind of sound was quite scary.

Tu Tu looked at the bloody scene in front of them, and said, "This world looks worse than the Demon Realm."

Zhu Lin didn't speak, but she agreed with Tu Tu's words in her heart. Although the Demon Realm is full of demonic energy, there is at least one place that can be called clean and beautiful. But when she looked at her surroundings, Zhu Lin felt that she might understand the phrase 'living hell'.

After walking for another hour, Zhu Lin stopped in front of a small building. Looking at the items in the building through the glass window, Zhu Lin guessed that the building was a store. Although she doesn't know what type of store the building is, but looking at how the items were displayed inside, she was almost sure that this building is indeed a store.

Zhu Lin carried the rabbit on her shoulder and walked towards the glass door. She stood in front of the glass door and looked inside curiously. Not seeing the walking corpses inside, Zhu Lin then looked at the glass door.

She stood there in silence for a few seconds, then she tried to slide the door open, but it didn't move. After thinking about it, she pushed the door instead, but the door remained motionless. Thinking that the door might need to be pulled to open it, she searched for a while but couldn't find anything that could be used to pull the door open.

After a moment of silence, she asked, "Tu Tu, do you know how to open this door?"

Tu Tu looked at the mysterious glass door in front of them and said, "Master, I don't know."

The rabbit thought for a while and asked, "Why don't we just break down the door?"

Zhu Lin looked at her violent but cute rabbit, shook her head and said, "We can't do that. What if the owner of this place asks for payment after we break in? We are penniless in this world."

Hearing what its master said, Tu Tu hesitantly asked, "Then… Do you want to find another place?"

Zhu Lin thought about it and agreed to Tu Tu's suggestion. When she turned to leave, the glass door suddenly opened from inside. Zhu Lin and her rabbit looked towards the open door and saw a man in his twenties walk out from inside.

When the man saw Zhu Lin's beautiful face, his eyes lit up and he smiled at Zhu Lin. Zhu Lin looked at this man and detected his malicious intentions. After thinking about it, she decided to leave.

Seeing that she was turning to leave, the man quickly reached out to grab Zhu Lin's wrist. Before his hand could touch the hem of Zhu Lin's sleeve, she took two steps to the side, avoiding his outstretched hand without looking back.

The man was taken aback by her sudden action, but quickly said, "Miss, please wait a moment."

Hearing his words, Zhu Lin turned to look at him. The man is glad that she stopped and looks at him. He licked his lips and gently asked, "Miss, where are you going? Why don't you come in and have a rest?"

Zhu Lin couldn't understand what he said, so she didn't answer him and continued on her way. Seeing that she was ignoring him, the man walked over quickly and blocked her way. Zhu Lin managed to stop on time, and didn't bump into him.

Zhu Lin frowned slightly at his rude behavior, and asked, "Young Master, why are you blocking my way?"

The man heard her clear and melodious voice that sounded like a voice from heaven, but he couldn't understand what she was saying at all. Seeing her frowning slightly, the man looked at Zhu Lin more carefully. After a while, he was very surprised when he saw her blood-stained ice-blue dress.

Thinking that she was injured by a zombie, the man turned pale and took a few steps back away from her. Zhu Lin noticed the fear in his eyes and observed him calmly.

After a moment of silence, he asked tremblingly, "You… Were you injured by a zombie?"

Zhu Lin still couldn't understand what he said. She lowered her eyes and thought: 'Since I don't understand the language, then I should nod to everything he said. Well, nobody gets offended when people agree with what they say, right?'

Thinking of this, she raised her eyes, looked at the man, and nodded seriously. Contrary to what she expected, the man's already pale face became even paler after she nodded.

Zhu Lin saw the man pointing at her blood-stained clothes with trembling fingers, and he asked, "Ho… How are you still alive? You are not a human anymore?"

After the man asked her, Zhu Lin nodded again. Seeing her nodding again, the man didn't waste any more time and ran back to the supermarket as fast as his legs could bring him. Zhu Lin looked back, only to see the door shut behind the man with a 'bang', and the man ran into the building.

It didn't take long for him to return with a group of people, who were dragging a lot of furniture and blocking the glass doors and windows. When they saw her, their faces were all pale, and their eyes showed horror.

Zhu Lin watched those people who were busy like bees for a while, then looked at her rabbit, and said hesitantly: "They seem to be very afraid of me."

Tu Tu, who also couldn't understand the language of this strange world, nodded and said, "Mhm, it seems so."
