They wouldn't have to wait long to find out, as from the ground below, a huge explosion of rock and dirt burst forth, revealing a gigantic, furred creature that dug through the earth with its huge foreclaws.
The creature roared, its velvety fur bristling, and it looked at Ryker and the others with small, beady eyes filled with fury.
"Uh, a mole?"
Scratching his head, Ryker looked on as the creature seemingly vented its anger. It wasn't exactly the vicious threat he was expecting…
As he was thinking this, though, the gigantic mole-like beast let out another screech, and Ryker saw the telltale wisps of qi in those vibrations that marked it as the demonic beasts' form of communication. Bai Xiyi roared back, and so the 'conversation' was on.
"This feels familiar."
