Just as soon as he thought it might be safe, a tingling feeling under Ryker's scalp caused Mini C, who had attuned his sensors to his 'danger sense', to activate 'Hyper-Awareness', slowing time to a halt.
Ryker reached out with his spiritual sense as time stopped, the speed with which he handled it skyrocketing along with his accelerated thoughts. From behind him he felt a massive killing intent, the culprit that had set off his danger sense in the first place.
His sword instantly appeared in his grasp, Ryker feeling time speed up again as he spun and swung out behind him. The black blade of his sword collided with Zhou Jie's black saber, an explosion of sand rising up all around them as the shockwave from their clash burst outwards.
'Looks like we're right on the money!' he thought, feeling the weight behind Zhou Jie's saber slash as he stubbornly held his ground.
