Chapter 131 - Mystic Wasteland

Sand. It was coarse, rough, and irritating, and it was currently getting everywhere as Ryker's eyes slowly adjusted to his new environment.

"What the hell?" he said, spitting out some grit as a fierce wind blew the coarse sand into his mouth. Looking around, Ryker saw that he was in the middle of a barren desert, though his visibility was limited due to the sandstorm that was raging.

'Not quite what I was expecting…' Ryker thought as the blowing sand stung his squinted eyes. He had a feeling that the tickling sensation on his skin would be a lot worse, as well, if it weren't for the body tempering he'd been doing over the past month.

{Hm, right. I thought it would be something like a holy land or spiritual spring,} Bestie said, her disappointment evident in her voice.

{But this place barely even has any spiritual energy!}

[More importantly, we should find shelter. It would be rather lame for you to die of exposure.]
