In consideration of their exhausting day, Liu Chao left Ryker and his friends to their evening after a greeting and a bit of small talk, Ryker and Hu Long retiring to one room of the inn the Heavenly Jade Pavilion had provided them while Lilliana stayed with Cui Feng in hers.
The banquet that had been prepared for them was rescheduled for tomorrow evening, giving them ample time to recover from the day's excitement.
"Hm, that Liu Chao guy…" Ryker muttered, relaxing on his bed while laying his head back on his hands. The room itself was very luxurious, beds furnished with soft, silk sheets, and fragrant scented candles illuminated the lacquered red sandalwood walls.
"What are you on about now?"
Hu Long rolled over on his bed on the other side of the room, resting his chin on his hand as he lay on his side somewhat awkwardly. Although the room was comfortable, it was honestly a bit too much, even for him who had been the son of a minor noble family.
