Volker remained where he was without moving when the short man attacked him. The man had weapons placed on several sides of his clothing. Volker saw it when he spoke to the man a moment ago.
The short man attacked with a clenched fist into Volker's face. Volker casually dodged to the left and squeezed the short man's right arm behind his back. He was wringing his fist tightly and then pushing it forward. The short fell to the ground, but as if it was nothing, he got up to reply to Volker.
Volker quickly jumped up after kicking his sword into the ground as a fulcrum before hitting the opponent with the hilt of his sword. Not giving him time to get up, Volker again clamped his opponent's left hand and kicked him in the back until he was sent flying far forward. None of them used weapons. Volker also had no intention of drawing the sword from its sheath.
Volker looked around, and neither the soldiers nor Waller had won the fight. The opponent had quite a bit of strength. The soldiers brought from Remilis were only ten. They all fought enemies without exception. But, it was Volker who was fighting alone against the short one.
Volker's gaze fell on the rising opponent. The short one looks unacceptable because he can't hurt Volker. The man ran towards Volker. He pulled out the small knife in the right side pouch with a light movement. Volker grinned, waiting for the shorty to be right before him.
Only two steps away, Volker jumped again, but this time he aimed to grip the short man's head firmly. After getting it, Volker floated with his feet up, and his head collided with the short one's head. His hand pressed against the opponent's head as if to sink it into the ground. The short man struggled to get free but to no avail. Volker put the opponent's head in a clamp until a 'crack' sounded like something breaking. Shorty screamed in pain until the small knife in his hand fell to the ground.
"Beg!" His friends who saw it widened in shock. But they still fought the soldiers.
Volker didn't care. He immediately threw Beg into the bushes on his left with great force. He was staring at the man coldly from where he was after Beg laid down helplessly. Beg did not have the strength to get back up. The man's legs seemed to move wildly because of the pain.
Not long after, the tall one came to see the condition of his injured friend. Two more friends followed him after that. The tall, muscular man called Derg woke up the weak-looking Beg. If three of Beg's friends get injured until they bleed, Beg is the other way around.
The short man looks fine, but his bones must be problematic. Especially his head. Volker could tell he must have broken his collarbone.
"You guys still want to continue?" asked Volker. His cold voice echoed through the forest. "If you want to continue, let's finish now."
Waller and the soldiers approached Volker and stood behind the man. They stared simultaneously at the same place. Where are the enemies?
"We didn't have any problems with you guys before, but if you guys want to die needlessly, then we will gladly give it to you." Volker continued.
Supposedly, Derg and his friends understood that Volker and his soldiers were no match for him. Maybe he had already defeated many opponents, but they should be playing with something other than Rodenis.
"We admit defeat." Derg represents his friends. It was true what Volker said if they would only die in vain against Rodenis. "We will not fight anymore," he continued.
Volker didn't answer. He was giving the code to his soldiers to leave that place. Fortunately, their horses didn't run away after seeing the fight that had just taken place. Otherwise, it would just waste too much time looking for their horses.

The Remilis Gate is visible from a distance. The tall black gate looked dashing with a Remilis symbol in front of it. The guards opened the door when they saw Volker and soldiers coming. The gate screeched before closing again, keeping the outside world away from Rodenis' life.
Volker stopped at the stables and asked a groom to treat the horse. It had been a long time since Gallop had received the treatment he deserved because he was busy carrying Volker around. Volker stroked Gallop's head gently before getting off the horse.
"Lord Volker, our arrival might surprise the Elders." Waller followed Volker's steps. It was only natural if Volker frequently returned to Remilis while on guard at Delmar. But this time, he brought all his soldiers along.
"You don't need to worry. I will tell Elder," he replied. "You guys rest."
"Yes, Lord Volker." All the soldiers answered in unison.
Volker was about to turn around when he accidentally saw something stuck. He discouraged. His gaze was directed straight at Waller's body. The badge affixed to Waller's armor, which was the Remilis warrior's symbol, seemed incomplete. Immediately, Volker studied the object with a frown.
Even with Waller, by reflex, the man moved away from Volker to avoid it. It was apparent the nervousness the man was trying to hide. The battle that happened just now, was it possible for a skirmish like that to break a badge?
"Why can it break?" asked Volker afterward.
"I'm not sure, Lord Volker. Maybe because of the fight just now?"
"You need to fix it," said Volker curtly.
"Of course, Lord."
Volker nodded before leaving the place. The distance between the horse and the house is quite far. So he had to hurry. He needed to clean his body after sweating. Drowning in the bath will refresh his body.
Ah, Volker wants to get home quickly. Some of the soldiers or residents of Remilis who saw him greeted the man politely. They so respected him. Volker stopped by a tavern to buy a bottle of palm wine before heading home. The drink will help restore his strength. It seemed that he also wanted good food. Grilled rabbit with mushroom sauce, for example?
Volker rushed to clean up after arriving at his house. He soaked in warm water with a soothing scent of pine mixed in. The candles lit in his home made the atmosphere even more peaceful.
Volker closed his eyes, feeling the warmth on his body. But a few seconds later, he again opened his eyes after remembering the Waller badge.
"Is it possible?" he muttered to the silence. "But, he is a great warrior. His combat ability is also high." Volker tried to analyze. "No-no, I have to think coldly."
Volker scrubbed himself clean before getting out of the bath. His body felt refreshed after that. He is ready to face the world now.
