Taking advantage of his strength has been raised to another level with the help of the magical enhancing tool that Sierra gave him, Damien ended the life of the Metallica lizard with ease. Blood as dark as vermillion dripped from the long cut that he has made in the underbelly of the Metallica lizard, as the thing roared in pain and agony, its feet became unstable and Damien taking advantage of the momentary lapse of the beast rolled out just in time as the thing fell on the floor with a loud thud.
Dust and debris flew over the surroundings almost blinding Damien who was still on the ground having used a lot of mana that he has consumed while using the corpse of the snow leopard that he has summoned to distract the thing.
" Cough, Cough," with his hand against his lips and eyes closed that were brimming with tears, Damien shook his head as he tried to open his eyes which were shut tight because of all the dust that went into them just now. He should have been quicker just now because he was half a beat slow, he almost got plummeted to a meat patty.

Damien has killed a grade three beast which was a level higher than the snow leopard that he had killed earlier in the forest causing his rank to rise along with his mana. With him getting levelled up, his stats started to recover faster than they were previously. Thus, even though he spent more than thirty mana points to summon the snow leopard just now, at least he did not feel like he was dying.
After breathing for a while Damien pushed himself up from the ground but as soon as he pushed himself up, he heard a loud announcement in his head that rang swiftly and a bit too loudly ——

For two seconds Damien felt his head buzz because of the announcement before he turned to look at Lynch and said, " Can you not make it a bit softer? I feel like the nerves in my head are going to burst."
" Is it not soft already, master?" Lynch asked with a tilt of his head as he added, " I made sure that it was at the lowest volume since you are so weak."
Damien felt like he could cough three litres of blood when he heard a small pixie-like thing call him weak. Maybe Lynch noticed what he was thinking because of the expression on his face and then he heard the little guy say, " Don't look at me like that, master. I might be small but I can kill any demon under grade seven."
"Really ?" Damien drawled thinking that the pixie demon was already speaking like this because he was trying to save his pride but then he saw the thing puff out its cheeks as he started fluttering his wings faster and faster before ——
Like a cannonball, it shot past Damien and smashed into the boulder that was as tall as the ceiling of the cave. With a bang, the boulder crumbled while the pixie dragon was completely fine blowing the dust off his wings as he looked at Damien and raised his chin haughtily, " You saw that, right master?"
Damien watched the small pixie that looked like a hideous version of tinker bell and then at the boulder that has crumpled under the impact of the pixie demon, his mouth agape like a fish breathing and gulping in water before he raised his head and looked at Lynch with a greasy smile, " You do know that I totally love you right?"
" Your love is too shallow Master Damien," muttered Lynch with a disgusted look in his eyes. His eyes rolled to and fro as he huffed and said, " That is not important, you found the treasure right?"
Only then did Damien remember about the notification that rand in his head just now, he looked around him but to his surprise, he did not see any treasure chest.
" You are looking in the wrong place, master," he heard Lynch say as the small demon pointed to the corpse of the Metallica lizard and then added, " The overlord would not have hidden his treasures away where anyone could find them instead it will be at places where no one will find them."
As he spoke he pointed at the bulging belly of the Metallica lizard.
Damien raised his hand and pointed at the Metallica lizard's belly and said, " So that thing ate the treasure and now you want me to chop it up and take it out?"
"That's right."
Damien looked at the ugly-looking lizard and then stared at the extra ugly belly and shook his head with a disgusted look on his face. " Oh to the hell and no, I am not doing that. I am not butchering that hideous creature up—— look at the size of that thing who knows how many things it might have eaten. And you want me to shower in that things guts, blood and—— "
" If you don't take the treasure out then we will be staying here in the cave, Master Damien." Lynch interrupted Damien who was in the middle of his whining causing the latter to glare at Lynch and say, " I was joking earlier, I hate you.."
With that, he stomped towards the Metallica lizard and started to cut through the many layers of the underbelly of the thing until he was covered with blood and flesh that made Damien want to throw up before long two things fell.
An egg and a blackened treasure chest.
The treasure chest did bring a sort of joy to Damien who finally completed his mission but the egg —— not so much.
