Chapter 7 - Let's discuss privately.

Freda had been staring at her manager for quite some time. She was completely immobile and had no idea what to do.

Jayden's lip curved into a mischievous smirk. "Won't you greet the company's CEO?" Jayden inquired, amused by Freda's expression.

She appeared to be completely surprised, and her eyes seemed like they were about to fall out of her eye socket, while her mouth was slightly open.

Freda was simply having difficulty comprehending her current situation. "Why is Freda looking surprised? Have you two met before?" Mr. Edgar inquired, his brows slightly arched.

Freda exhaled loudly before blinking several times. "Good afternoon, CEO Jayden, and may I speak with you in private?" She begged in a hushed tone, her eyes pleadingly fixed on him.

Jayden continued to find this childlike lady amusing. She had previously referred to him as a stalker, but now that she has discovered that he was the owner of the company, she was attempting to speak to him in a friendly manner.

"I have a matter to attend to." Jayden spoke up.

He had previously called the company's manager and asked for the name of the secretary who worked for him before leaving the company building early this morning.

Mr. Edgar introduced the secretary as 'Freda,' which surprised Jayden.

The child-like lady who explains things that no one asked about and the lady with an unusual fashion sense.

He had gone to his mansion to speak with his maid but discovered that she was rushed to the hospital after collapsing while tending to his garden.

Jayden paid the hospital bills, and now he needs a maid he can rely on. He required assistance in caring for his mansion.

He returned to the company after posting some fliers in the street, and because he was hungry, he went to the company cafeteria, where his gaze was drawn to Freda.

He recognized her from a distance because of the clothes she wore and her ginger hair.

Freda was currently frowning deeply as a result of Jayden's statement. "I'm not going to take up much of your time, sir, so please hear me out first, okay?" She pleaded, her puppy dog eyes on him.

Jayden feels the need to burst out laughing because her insignificant actions have no effect on him.

He finds her strange and amusing at the same time. "Maybe next time." Jayden stated, before curving his lips into a smirk and winking at her.

Jayden turned around and was about to leave the cafeteria when he came to a halt because Freda had just called out his name. "Sir Jayden." She called out in hushed tones before pushing her glasses backwards to keep them from falling off her eyes.

Jayden breathed out. She had been calling him Jayden, but now she has added 'Sir' because she discovered he was the CEO.

He reaches for his hair, ensuring that his man bun is secure. His lips curved to the side as he licks them mischievously before turning around to stare at Freda.

He arched his eyebrows at her, waiting for her to say whatever she intended to say.

Her pink pout lip trembled slightly, as if she was trying to say something but couldn't.

Jayden's gaze returned to her lips as a result of her small action.

He breathed out. "Do you have anything to say to me?" Jayden inquired, deciding to listen to her pleading.

He has a strong feeling that she wanted to talk to him because she wants him to forgive her for calling him a pervert.

"Can we have a private conversation?" Freda inquired, causing her Manager, who was standing besides them, to cough dryly.

He shut Freda with a warning glare, his hands beside his mouth.

She has no idea why he was warning her, so she chose to ignore him. "Shall we go to my office?" Jayden stated.

They walked alongside each other as they approached Jayden's office.

Jayden was amused to see how she will plead with him, and if he threatens to fire her, she might as well kneel and beg for forgiveness.

Various scenes began to play in his head, and he chuckled unconsciously. "Sir. Is something funny?" Freda asked, her gaze fixed on Jayden, who had just laughed for no apparent reason.

Jayden shook his head sideways as he pressed the elevator button.

The elevator ride was completely silent as Freda pondered on how she would begin the conversation without getting on Jayden's nerves.

The elevator door opened as they approached the upper floor, and Jayden led the way.

The CEO's office was rarely used, but Freda was surprised to find it neatly organized when she arrived.

The warm scent of tangerine filled her nostrils, and it came from the air freshener, which was automatically spraying on its own.

Because the air conditioning was set to the maximum setting, the office was cold. There was a portrait of a young black woman with her hair shaved to her scalp. She wore long earrings and a silver necklace around her neck.

Because the picture only shows half of her chest, only the upper half of the lady could be seen.

Freda suspects that the lady is naked based on her observations. The lady's left hand was on her head, and her right hand was on her shoulder. She was stunning, and despite the fact that she has no hair on her head, her beauty was unparalleled.

"Please take a seat." Jayden's words brought Freda back to reality.

He was already seated in his office chair.

Freda approached him, standing in front of his office table. "Sir, I do not wish to take a seat. I can just stand here and say what I intended on saying." Freda responded with a solemn voice.

She slowly shifts her gaze to her puzzle box before exhaling deeply, still pondering how she'll use the right words to plead with Jayden in a way that will be accepted.

"Alright. Go ahead and express your thoughts." Jayden said as he placed his entwined hands on his office table, a straight face on Freda.

Freda exhaled and looked at her puzzle box. She reassembled the puzzle she had made for herself before returning her attention to Jayden.

"I don't want to upset you, sir, but…"

Her voice trailed for a few seconds. "Could you please give me the entire day off tomorrow? I pleaded with manager Edgar, but he said he couldn't, but as the CEO of this company, I believe you can grant my request." She conveyed with a firm voice while staring intently at Jayden.

Jayden taunted. "Are you kidding me?"

After hearing Jayden's words, Freda arched her brows. 'How can he think I'm joking?' She questioned herself but couldn't answer her own question.

"What makes you think I'm joking." She forwarded her inner question to Jayden.

Jayden was perplexed this time around. He thought she was joking, but it turns out she wasn't. "Aren't you going to apologize for how you treated me last night?" He asked.

Freda's gaze shifts to her puzzle box. She brought it up to her nose as she inhaled the scent of the puzzle box.

It had a strange odor, so she turned around, ready to make her way to the restroom to wash off the odor of her puzzle box.

When Jayden called out for Freda, she was almost close to the exit door of his office. "Hey!" He yelled, causing Freda to come to a complete stop.

She didn't bother turning around to look at Jayden because her attention was fixed on her puzzle box.

"Turn around."

In response to Jayden's statement, she turned around, her gaze fixed on the puzzle box, "Who said you had to excuse yourself when we weren't finished talking?" Jayden furiously questioned her.

"Are we not done yet?" She inquired, her brow furrowed.

She was so preoccupied with keeping her puzzle box tidy that she completely forgot she was having a conversation with her CEO.

The puzzle box helps her In a variety of ways.

It boosts her self-esteem, self-control, and social development skills. It allows her to focus her attention on one thing, freeing up the rest of her mind, particularly the creative part.

"No. We are still having a conversation." Jayden reminded her of this.

"Ohh." She mumbled a few words before nodding.

"So why do you want me to give you the entire day off tomorrow?" Jayden inquired because he was still waiting for her response.

While staring at her puzzle box, she said something that made Jayden's blood boil. "Because our company's CEO is cruel. He makes workers work like machines and pays them less. I've been working too hard and need a day off." She sincerely stated, unaware of what was ahead of her.
