General POV
Rosie continued to hide the fact that she was being maltreated by Josh's mom and Vivian
She would always stare at the picture of the mermaid , it sort of comforted her
Days turn into months and finally Rosie was almost due for delivery
She had bought baby clothes, shoes , socks and so on
She was just waiting for the arrival of her Belle which means Beauty
Josh had to take a paternity leave so he could take care of his dear Rosie, he kinda figured out that she might not be hundred percent safe because he met Vivian in the house the previous day
Rosie's POV
I was really happy that Josh could stay with me at home
This way his mom would have a change of character and pretend she cares about me and her grandchild
"Baby, have you had your breakfast?"
Josh asked as he got to the dinning table
" No, I don't want to eat"
" It is better you do , come here and it"
I sluggishly walked to the dinning table while Josh prepared to feed me
General POV
Few days later,
Rosie , Josh and Andrew were playing some card game when Rosie decided to make tea for all of them
Andrew wanted to but she insisted on making it
Few minutes later, Rosie started screaming and the two in the living room rushed to check up on her
"What is it, babe?"
Josh asked panicked
"I think the baby is coming"
Immediately , Josh and Andrew helped her out of the house and into the car and Josh drove her to the hospital leaving Andrew behind to man the house since all the workers were on leave
After minutes of pushing and pushing , Rosie finally gave birth
The midwife's mouth fully opened when she saw the baby that she screamed and ran out of the room and the doctor followed too
"Monster"
Rosie who was trying to gain consciousness looked at husband whose mouth was wide open
"What is that Josh? What is wrong with our baby? "
She asked really concerned
" it is a mermaid"
He said carrying the baby into his arms
" A mermaid? How come? "
She asked as she saw the tail of her daughter
A fish tail
She cried and took her daughter into her arms
"My Belle"
The couple stood for minutes crying after Josh phone rang and it was Andrew
"Hey man, how is Rosie ?"
"She is fine "
"I just heard something , a mermaid was sighted at the beach today and the local people are believing that bad lucks are caused by her and then I saw on the news that the nurses and doctors at the hospital where you ran out because some sort of woman gave birth to a mermaid and the locals are coming to kill that child"
" Andrew , it is fine, ok? I will do everything to everything to protect my daughter even if it cost me my life"
" What do you mean? "
Josh did not reply instead he ended the call and turned to Rosie
"Let's get at of here"
He said in an hurry
"But I am not strong enough"
"If we don't leave here now ,they are going to hurt our baby "
Ok, let us go"
They walked out of the room and met Josh's mom and Vivian rushing into room
"Hey where are you guys going to?" Vivian asked shocked
" We have to go"
Josh said ignoring the both of them
Claudia heard the news too so she decided to check up on them only to find out that they were running away
"What you guys hiding,is your daughter the freak?
She asked as she opened the shawl
" What?A mermaid?"
Josh and Rosie hurriedly left and Josh's mom called the locals
She would not accept a monster as a grandchild
She did not why Josh was protecting this monster of a child
Soon the locals caught up with Josh and Rosie
They demanded the mermaid was given to them but they refused
And in slow motion, Josh was shot on the chest and he slowly collapsed to the ground
He gathered all the strength in him and said
"Take our daughter to the ocean that where she belongs,this people are going to hurt her if she is not returned to the ocean,go now"
" I can't leave you"
Rosie said holding his face with one hand
" Go now,now that they are still distracted"
Rosie stood up with their mermaid child and left
Later in the morning,she went to the sea shore where Hidee watched her as she cried
"I am sorry baby, I am sorry we have to leave you but this is for you good ,Belle. I will always love and cherish you in my heart "
She said as she placed her mermaid daughter on the water and she floated
And then as Belle began to go down ,Rosie saw mermaid dive into the water
"Please take of my daughter ,take care of Belle"
She said crying and wailing
" Wherever you are I will always have you in my heart"
And then Claudia and Vivian walked to beach and dragged Rosie by the hair
"You killed my only son, he is dead because of you and your monster of a daughter. You are going to pay"
Claudia said crying while Vivian continued pulling her by hair
"You are hurting me, let go of me"
"You are going to pay dearly for killing my son"
