Blake rushed out of his car and headed towards the shopping complex where he had called Marissa earlier. He felt bad about the situation they were in; their honeymoon had been cancelled, and he was swamped with work at the worst possible time, limiting his time with her.
"Did you check?!" He yelled at the guard he had sent to monitor Marissa over the phone.
The guard quickly replied, "Yes, sir. She-"
"Where is she?!" Blake pressed the elevator button several times in a rush, heading towards the location the guard had told him.
Blake's heart raced as he ran towards the boutique where Marissa was. He saw a small crowd gathered and pushed his way through to see what had happened. Marissa was lying on the ground, clutching her ankle in pain.
"What happened?" Blake asked as he knelt beside her.
"I twisted my ankle… I didn't see the curb…" Marissa winced in pain.
