Once the duo had finished eating. The shortest of the man decided that his traps needed to be active do that these two die in the streets.
"Their usually and make it dirty depends on the day of the week." The man said.
This caught the attention of Rex and War God. There was no way that a usual would be different each and everyday.
"Okay. Thanks." Rex responded and left with War God tailing.
Once they were outside, "Did he just?"
"Yeah. He is trying to cover for them. What for, I do not know."
As they walked, the feeling that nothing was going to actually go right settled in on Rex. He could already see doors and windows being locked.
"This is going to be their destruction if they do not try to help out." War God thought.
Seeing that none of them were even curious about the duo with the dragons overhead. Rex then felt a barrier pop over the town. When they turned around, no one was actually behind them anymore. This confirmed the true stance on the town.
Without waiting, the roads were all set ablaze. Wails from the houses and businesses hoping that the intruders died a marvelous burning death.
Yet, they were truly not prepared to see Rex nor War God not affected. Rex now wanted to fill up this place with destruction. He honestly did not care anymore about this place.
When he tried to activate his Qi, it was sealed shut tight. Rex slowly began to curse at his luck.
War God seeing the anger from Rex tried to use her Qi. She was in the same prediction that Rex was in. This caused her to be ungrateful to the town.
"Even now, I want to destroy this town." War God stated.
As the duo walked closer to the edge of the town. The shortest man followed his eyes glued on the duo. He was not sure why but he insisted on following them.
They neared the barrier and it held against Rex trying to leave. This further furiated Rex nothing that the towm did at this moment would save them.
As the duo turned around, they saw the shortest man. This caught their attention. Something seemed amiss in his eyes. His eyes looked different now than before.
"Welcome to the town of Oblivion." The man spoke.
"Oblivion?" Rex asked.
"Yes. This town has already been obliterated by the dragons before. Yet, a miracle happens and the town is resurrected. The people only know that once the dragons come their doom is nearby. It is your job to figure out what causes this destruction." The man seemed to become thin air.
"Ding"
Rex figured he knew already what the system was going to say but checked it anyways.
"System Update Complete"
Rex was curious has to why the system had just been updated.
"Quest Defeat the ancient zuggurant"
Rex was curious about this.
"Ancient zuggurant is a being of willingness and chaoticness. It wills for certain events to be unstoppable and for the chaos to erupt within its domain."
Rex was confused about this. He had not heard of such. A being that would be on par with the Demon King of Will if not for the chaotic part in his nature.
"Seems like we have to try and defeated something called an ancient zuggurant." Rex spoke.
"That names sounds familiar. Would this town have a library or somewhere that a look of books are?" War God asked.
"Maybe. We can always check."
Thus the duo looked for the closest library. This was the downfall of the ancient zuggurant. It had to have the town exactly like it was before it's destruction.
After searching for hours, a little shop had several books. Of course, Rex and War God had to break into almost every building to find this out.
"Are any of those books the ones we need?" Rex asked holding a woman in a choke hold.
"Yes. Two of these books are."
The woman did not faint but coughed several times once Rex released her.
As the duo left. The ancient zuggurant had watched from the woman's eyes and knew that something bad was going to happen. So he did what he thought he could do and just caused the woman to disappear.
Rex and War God then spent the rest of the day researching the ancient zuggurant. To their surprise, it was more of a beast than humanoid.
The beast was said to be larger than most dragons. More cunning than even humans and pack hunting beasts. The beast would make it's home and make a disaster happen and force the town to constantly relive it.
"Something is still not right with this." Rex spoke.
"What is still wrong?" War God spoke.
