Maximum felt the being in front of him was a lot stronger than even most Heaven Realm cultivators. The being could potentially be even stronger than the Goddesses.
"May I ask who you are?" Maximum asked in a very polite tone.
"I am the Guardian of the paths. All who seek Fame and Glory, or Death and Never-ending Torture. I point the way for your survival or demise." The being said.
When Maximum looked again. There were no signs pointing to either way. Maximum hoped that what he saw was not the reality he would get.
"From staring into your eyes for too long. I saw a vision, will that vision come true?" Maximum asked.
"Depends on your fortune."
Maximum felt that this was truly a sad ending for him now.
"Tell me, there should have been a being whom you saw that was powerful and not a part of your normal life. Who was that person?"
Maximum honesty had a hard time remembering who the individual was. He knew it was someone from the Forbidden Area.
"Someone from the Forbidden Area. I honestly cannot remember who it was exactly." Maximum replied after spending a moment to think about it.
"Someone from the Forbidden Area. There are only two people who I can think of. First, Rudak of the Forbidden Area, he is slightly weaker but brings meaning to people's lives. Second, Naoem of the Forbidden Area, she was banished as a Soul and helps all beings return to their normal walks."
Maximum knew right off the bat that it was neither one. He shook his head in disagreement with both.
The being trembled because there was only one person left. That person either makes people immediately die in a suffering manner or sends them into the inferno without hesitation.
"The Demon King of the Forbidden Area. It was luck that he did not kill you while there. Unless you, yourself, was already willing to die." The tone was deathly when the being finished.
"That was the person. I was because of the circumstances that I thought were available to me. Yet, when I went through the trial with the blood spots. I felt that I did not pass and was not willing to see any way out of it."
The being nodded in agreement.
"That happens to a lot of people. Yet, for some odd reason he still saved you. Was it by choice or by a revelation?" The being slightly thought.
Seemingly, a pair of eyes appeared behind Maximum. Yet, he did not feel any reason to look behind himself.
The being saw a vision of Maximum climbing and holding his own against some skeletons with a shadow covering them. Yet, he did not win the battle but he did not lose either.
A tank for what gamers what to call what role Maximum was doing. He held his ground in order to prevent any casualties from happening.
"From what I see he does indeed need to go down the Success Path. What truly made him go down the Failure Path and make the Demon King save him?" The being thought.
A strange playback came from the ground. Even Maximum got to see what made him want to go down the failure path.
"Blood, and it is fresh as well." Maximum thought.
He took a step and saw a vision.
Inside it he was beside his wife and Seishi. The wife asked, "Whom do you love more?"
Maximum having loved Seishi for longer immediately explained, "I have loved Seishi for a lot longer. Yet, when fate played its role. She was the one to die and not me. Even though you have birthed my daughter. My heart is conflicted with how to deal with this."
The next moment, the two women began fighting. Fists were thrown and hair pulled, clothes ripped off and naked bodies seen.
Yet neither one was willing to let the fight go in the other's favor. So when the duo got close to an edge. They both forced each other off.
While they held on to each other, Maximum cried out.
He could not stop their deaths. The carnage was more than what not only him but Iris was well. She began to curse him and beat him for allowing the women to die.
All Maximum could do was cry. Even if he wanted to bring them back. There was no way of knowing if Seishi's Soul had completely disappeared.
From there, Maximum followed the blood trial. He completed the trials with passing colors. Yet, his mind did not recover from the first vision.
He wanted the death of himself instead of allowing the women to kill each other. This was the cause and effect of seeing such visions.
"Truly a miracle of loving some people with all of your heart." The being said.
Maximum cried his heart out in front of the being. Nothing could stop him from doing so. Even the Demon King behind him tried to help salvage the situation. Yet, there was nothing that happened could the Demon King actually avoid.
"Prepare a bath." The being said.
The Demon King gently carried Maximum to the outer reaches where the bath was prepared.
Maximum got sat down inside the bath.
