Chapter 493 - Chapter 491 To do what I must

Once the duo were done in the bathroom. Rex and the butler were both outside the room where the trio originally were awaiting news of what they decided.

"Today, I have to say that it is a wonderful day. How will she be able to ascend with me?" Maximum asked.

"Her Spirit was destroyed and yet, you still want to take her with you?" The butler growled in annoyance.

Maximum was shocked to hear such news. Yet, he knew what he needed to do.

"She was the first love of my life. I vowed to protect her in which not only I failed. The regret to know that she is here now and can ascend properly. How would you feel?" Maximum replied in a harsh tone at the end.

"I too have felt that grief. She too is in her trial of being able to ascend back. Remember, the dead cannot always ascend. I learned that the hard way." The butler sat down.

A dracolich came from the shadows growling in anger. It wanted to devastate everything that it could. Yet, it's powers were currently unable to be used.

"That is impressive." Rex happily jumped in joy.

He went and started examining the dracolich like a child enjoying their finest toy. Even the dracolich wanted help, however the butler had to deal with Maximum.

"What is her trial so that I can carry most of her burden?" Maximum replied cold-heartedly.

"For her, she has to lead the way for you to see the trial. Remember, to do what one must. There will always be privileges and consequences. If the price of the privilege does not overbear the consequence or the other way around. That trial can be done. If the prices are too high, do not attempt it. For I alone know the dealings with the prices." The sharpness of the tone seemed to make the walls crack.

The dog creatures were more star struck than anything because most of the young ones died instantly.

"Come, we need to feast on blood." The butler told the dracolich.

A roar of challenge vibrated through the walls. The dog creatures were ready to fight to the death for this. They have been wanting to kill these people.

Seishi and Maximum both headed in the direction of a trial. Rex was alone currently. That was until a gold coin dropped and Rex was teleported out of the area.

"Tell me, what trial are you undertaking?" Maximum asked.

"This trial is one to either allow you to kill me or I kill you." Seishi replied broken hearted.

Maximum was truly upset. He knew that he would lose and she would win. It honestly would not matter either way.

An arena filled with different spirits came into view. Maximum was already thinking of killing himself so that Seishi would not have to bear that burden.

He hoped that Rex would understand. He knew that Iris would hate him for the rest of her life.

Both of them went separate ways. Both were not handed helmets and the breastplate only went to the base of the neckline.

A spirit shouted, "BEGIN!"

Maximum placed the sword across his own neckline and sliced his own neck. As the last moments of life came, he too saw Seishi had cut her neck.

Maximum began to tear up. There was no way that she too planned this. Unless, she knew Maximum well enough to know what he would do.

"Both parties killed themselves. What a misery to watch." Spirits began wanting refunds for watching this.

Only a select couple stayed to see what kind of miracle would happen.

Alas, the miracle never came. This greatly depressed the people who stayed.

"Do you all wish to have a refund?" A voice echoed.

The people just shrugged it off. At least they got to spend time with their fellow spirits.

The voice replied, "Begin a vote then. Your refund or the lives of these two restored."

Every spirit still here replied, "Restore their lives."

The spirits felt that their burdens had been lifted and that they were ready to ascend into a more relaxing place. That is not what they got.

Maximum slowly looked across and saw Seishi waking up. He crawled across and made sure that she was not a dream of his.

When he arrived, he felt the moistness of her blood on the ground. He knew this was no dream.

"What did we do?" Maximum asked.

In their blood, all impurities and all of the area's toxins were spilled out. Once the slashes were closed, droplets of water entered their veins.

Their veins were now able to push more Qi out than ever. All because of the willfulness of a few spirits who did not want their money back from watching two people commit suicide.
