"Can we make this call before the calamity is supposed to happen?" The Nine Tailed Queen asked.
"If we do, how will everyone react?" Rex asked.
The Nine Tailed Queen thought about it. She understood where Rex was coming from. If news that you might die and still get used got spread around. Would anyone fight against the upcoming calamity? No.
"Would it be better to say than not to?" The Nine Tailed Queen said.
"Yes. I honestly want everything to go smoothly. I do not have any hope of this going smoothly. It might just be my experience speaking, every single time an easy win should have come. It was not and a lot more harsh things have come against me." Rex answered.
The Nine Tailed Queen stood up. She went over and hugged Rex.
"I will talk to them. I will not allow their deaths to used as a primary source of slowing down the calamity. Are we all clear?" The Nine Tailed Queen spoke.
"Crystal Madam Queen." Nephelem bowed.
He made a silent vow to make sure the enemies were the ones who would get blown up first. If a nearby Foxman also gets blown up, he would blame the enemies for slashing the foxes down close to their brethren, fellow beasts, or whatever else it could be.
The Nine Tailed Queen found the comfort of Rex a little upsetting right now. That was to be expected. The conversation was not pleasant nor sunshine. The group went to lay down with Rex.
The bed they laid down on was big enough for everyone to enjoy the bed and each other's company without being too rowdy. Slowly throughout the day, each one fell asleep. The final one was Rex.
The next day arrives and the Nine Tailed Queen made her way to her favorite spot to talk to the most experienced Foxmen.
"What is wrong?" They all wondered.
"During the calamity, my children may not come home. If that child does not, there may be a reason to still use that child. I want the news to spread that I am ordering every Male Fox to impregnate at least one Female. That is to have most of the males fight in the calamity. I do not care if the female is Fox, Angelic, or even human. I want a legacy for that male.
As for the female foxes, they are to prepare everything for the male. If they wish for their chosen one to impregnate someone else. That female must give consent."
The experienced Foxmen were astounded at the revelation. They were expecting the calamity not to be this bad. They knew that it could turn worst.
Knowing there was still a use after death. The experienced Foxmen knew it was something with necromancy. They were afraid to speak up and ask.
"We will explain the situation."
The experienced Foxmen went around and told the Male Foxmen what to do. The Female Foxmen were happy to hear about trying to leave legacy.
The Female Foxmen also felt sad because the Male could go into any female. All consent had to be present.
Some of the newly Two Tailed Female Foxmen were upset. They were wanting to spend time with more of the females than males.
"Do we truly have to?" Tears ran from the females.
They got led to the Nine Tailed Queen's favorite spot. They sat around and each found it hard to look at their mother in the eyes.
"My dearest children, what is wrong?"
Thumbs began twirling. Ears began to lower and self-esteem was almost gone through the females.
Finally one spoke up, "Mother, we have found that we would hang out with each other than with Males."
The Nine Tailed Queen felt anger deep inside. She held back on her children.
"What makes you want to hang out with other women?"
The female Foxes felt even worst about this.
"We see how the women around Father all act and we want to act like that." Another one replied.
The anger seemed to find its way to where Rex was currently setting down and Rex had a fruit hit his head and explode.
"For now on, do not look towards the women that around Rex. They are around him because Father is strong and caring. Such a man deserves many women." The Nine Tailed Queen knew how much those words meant.
She now understood why he asked before just talking to the others. It would seen like he did not care and was not strong enough to carry that burden. Since he had, the burden could be carried by many people instead of him.
"How can he have so many women besides you mother?"
"That is how the Realms treat powerful men and women. The stronger one is, the more people want to flock around that person. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worst."
The Female Foxmen were paying so close attention. Their eyes almost seemed white.
"When the time comes for this calamity, all will change. No matter the outcome, I will always love my children. I need for the men to have a legacy to share this time with. Many will not make it home. The ones that do, will forever be changed. Their best outcome is seeing their children being born."
The Female Foxmen began to see where their mother was coming from. For them, seeing Rex not being able to come back would hurt them. It would be worst on the males who have no reason to come back. A child or children would give them the reason to live.
"Mother, can we be the last ones to be picked? So that way when we become strong enough we can women like Father does?"
"I will say, that is quite interesting. If a Male does want you. I ask that you see if he is just trying to impregnate someone or if he truly wants you. If he is trying to impregnate someone, than you can reject nicely. If the Male is trying to spend his life with you. At least give it a shot at first."
The Female Foxmen hugged their mother and went on their way. The Queen made sure to keep track of those women. She was sure that someone would try to woo them into having a child. She hoped that it would be forever instead of just a baby.
