Once Lillian had been saved. Rex returned to his house. He was actually mad that the duo had done something terrible.
"This is why I have to be careful. Any wrong move and my city is done for." Rex talked to himself.
The closer he got to his house. The more irritated Rex got. Finally, he opened the door. When the door was open wide, a wide range of women were happy to see Rex. It not only showed on their faces but Rex could see it in their eyes.
"Blessings come in my ways." Rex thought.
He went over and got hugs from each woman personally and a group hug together.
"We need to talk about our next move." Rex said.
Everyone sat down and listened.
"What other Beastman Races could we actually get to enter the city?" Rex asked.
"In the Third Realm, you have the goodwilled races. As for the others, they are more prone to hate and anger." Liz stated.
"So we have a year and nothing to start doing with the city." Rex said.
"If you want, I can ask Lilith if she is willing to lend one of her leaders. At the very least, I will stay with the maids and keep watch. It will hurt the One Tailed Foxes. As long as you say that it is for more friends to enter the city. That you comeback after advancing. They should be okay with that." Bella replied hopeful.
Everyone seemed to agree with Bella's idea.
"Alright. I will prepare to advance. We need to get going." Rex said.
Margaret and Amber both went to fetch Rex's parents. It would take a day or two at max for them to reach the Ninth Realm, if the Guardians allowed them to just advance with more treasure.
The group had finally began to prepare for their departure. Rex was happy to see everyone happily enjoying themselves.
He summoned the entire city for a major announcement to be released in three days.
Everyone was shocked to hear such news. They began to ponder if he was going to do something good again. Thr foxes figured that he had a major journey to do. This upset the One Tailed Foxes. They already knew that this moment would come.
Before the sun officially rose on the first day
Rex woke up and showered. He had not wanted a shower in so long that he felt rejuvenated after getting dressed.
The sun rose on the first day before the announcement and Rex entered the Temple of Unholy with the Foxmen groups. The starting party was with Gyuki. He wanted them to prepare for mass Qi control with enemies. Tetsuo and the few who started with them were in the back.
When they entered. The first thing they did was find a big group of enemies. Even though the biggest they found was five. Getting four two and three grouped enemies with the five. Made the entire group a massive seventeen Treant army.
The group with Gyuki fired all kinds of Qi attacks. They had no idea that others had seen the groups being led to the slaughter.
Once the group of seventeen had finally been killed. Another group consisting of thirty was coming.
Tetsuo and his group stepped up. They showed that great power does come with great responsibility. When the final one died, the first group cheered loudly for their older brothers and sisters.
Seeing that he had nothing to worry about. Rex headed home for an early day. This shocked Tetsuo and Gyuki. They were willing to stand up and lead the groups like they were told to.
When Rex arrived, no one else was in the house. He sat down and enjoyed the view of the city from his point of view.
"The city is still growing. It is far from enough to be completely free of worry." Rex said.
The door to the room that Rex was in opened. Bella came in and sat down next to Rex.
She laid her head down on his shoulder. Rex was not happy but decided to just go with the flow.
"What brings you here today?" Rex asked.
"Nothing of importance. Just looking at what you are." Bella answered.
In all truthfulness she wanted to talk about the plans for the city and get even more important information. All of that changed when she saw Rex just relaxing.
She knew that moments like this would not last forever. She just enjoyed the afternoon with Rex.
Night came and the house was quiet as dinner was served to Rex in his room.
"Why is dinner in my room?" Rex asked.
"Eating here is better than anywhere else." Liz said.
"Since the room will not be full. Why not eat here?" Iris said.
"Because you deserve to eat in here." Bella said.
Hearing all three of the women. Rex was pleased to have them. Once his plate was empty. Bella took everything and left.
Iris and Liz both leglocked a leg. They were not having Rex leave. They both wrapped their arms around his chest.
Rex patted their heads. Just slowly drifted into a dream where he stood on the bottom of the Food Chain. He had to crawl his way up to where he was.
Laughing could be heard from all directions. When a door opened. A terrible scream woke him up.
He darted his head left and right. He felt nothing was right with that dream. Alas, he noticed too late that something left the room.
"Too little to fight against." Rex said.
He stared at the wall beside his door. Although he knew something was there. He did not want to leave it undone.
He focused his mind on a singular leaf. He sliced a rat in half.
"Too noisy of a death." Rex said.
Falling back asleep. Rex began to tighter hold Iris and Liz. He was afraid of anything happening to them.
The next sun rose and the day before the announcement came with it.
