In a bright and dazzling light, the group of four entered a barren desert.
"Something is already wrong." Rex said.
He began to put together what was wrong. He could not feel anything. It also seemed like their presence were being sheltered.
"Time to move." Rex said.
The group slowly made their way through the desert. No life and nothing but sand could be seen.
A rumbling came forth. The group was a considerable distance away from the epicenter. The group began to fear what was coming up.
Two giant scorpions appeared. One seemed like it had been through multiple battles. The other one looked like a newcomer to the show.
"Heavenly Ranked Beasts." Lilith whispered.
Rex frowned because he had not fought against those beasts before. He was not keen on fighting new opponents now.
"Can we leave and come back?" Rex whispered.
"No. They already sensed us. That is why they are fighting." Lilith whispered.
Rex was angry. He did not want to fight because he did not want his humanity to become fragile.
"Lilith," Rex turned his head and kissed, "Take care of everyone." Rex rushed forward.
Lilith was stunned by his approach. She was not going to lose the man she deemed worthy of herself.
Lilith used her Demonic Qi to transform into her demon form. She had goat like horns, a more slender body, a dark red body with black hair, two tails protuding from her tailbone, and her fingers and toes were like massive claws.
She was ready to launch herself to save the man whom she needed permission to marry.
She watched as Rex ran towards the beasts. The two roared at his approach.
Ten more scorpions appeared beside each of them. Rex frowned because he would have to fight them now.
Rex unleased a massive amount of Demonic Qi. When he did, his body alternatively began to cultivate Heavenly Qi.
Rex released a black fireball. Instantly, the desert shifted into a glass plane. The fire did not stop until he forced his hand to close.
"That hurt." Rex screamed.
Lilith saw the glass plane. She herself could not get close enough to help her husband. Demon Rex slowly tried touching the glass. He went on a joyride across the glass. He could not scratch the glass with his claws.
"YOU DAMN FOOL!" Rex screamed, but his body hurt in the process.
Rex tried to move, but his body hurt even worse now. He was in more agony now than when he became the Demon King.
"Why am I like this?" Rex shouted inwardly.
"Host is currently using Demonic Qi to cultivate Heavenly Qi. Heavenly Qi does not mix well with Demonic Qi." Rex saw the notification.
"Huh?" Rex became confused.
"The Heavenly Realm does not judge against Race. It judges against those who use inferior Qi." Rex saw nothing but the notification.
He felt hopeless seeing the notification. He did understand what the notification meant.
"That makes a little sense, but why is my body cultivating Heavenly Qi? And why is there Heavenly Ranked Beasts here?" Rex questioned.
"The core of this planet got infected with Heavenly Qi. Thus, the creatures and insects had to evolve into Heavenly Beasts or get shallowed by them." Rex finally had the pieces to understand what happened.
"When you first used your Demonic Qi. The process to start cultivating Heavenly Qi began. Being in a Heavenly Realm, you have no maximum limit to your Heavenly Qi." Rex saw the notification.
He began to wonder how he fused Heavenly Qi into the core. His body slowly started to not hurt. He was not going to try and fight with his Demonic Qi for now.
Rex looked up and saw Lilith in her demon form. He was extremely pleased to see her in that form.
"Lilith, you look extremely beautiful. I hope you keep that form." Rex shouted lovingly.
Lilith blushed at her husband's remark. She, herself, knew that she was beautiful. She had been told by countless guys and girls. This was the first time she felt love coming from the remark.
"I promise to. How will we find your bodyguard?" Lilith replied.
Rex tried to just infuse his body with Demonic Qi. To his surprise, the Heavenly Realm did not affect him.
Rex's body shifted, and he began to transform into his Demon King form. At first, the three tails came from Rex's tailbone.
Rex slowly let his horns grow. He was genuinely glad he could control his transformation.
He stopped the transformation with that. He jumped from the glass plane to Lilith. He landed extremely softly. The sand barely shifted from his landing.
He grabbed Lilith around her waist with his left hand. He grabbed Bella with his right hand on her clothing.
"Please treat me like your wife!" Bella screamed inwardly.
Rex then ran unto the glass plane. He coasted at a casual 20 kilometers per hour. He could have gone faster, but in fear for his Head Maid's safety. He kept his casual speed just by using his Demonic Qi on his feet to keep going.
"So I have to find ways to use my Demonic Qi without directly attacking." Rex mentioned.
Lilith smiled because her husband was getting smarter. A strong man, in her heart, would always fail. A smart man will overcome all tribulations. She was watching her strong husband become smart. This was a deadly combination in Lilith's heart.
"I hope we can find a place so I can teach you some nice." Lilith smiled, showing sharp pointed teeth.
Rex smiled back at his wife. He continued to travel. The days were hotter than normal. If not for the fact of being in a Heavenly Realm desert, it was also the glass plane reflecting the sun, making it torturous for anyone else to travel.
Once, the group had traveled nearly all day looking for Demon Rex. The group saw the sun setting, and they began to fear the worst.
With the last little of light, an oasis could be seen. In hopes of it bot being a mirage. Rex blazed through to the spot.
He heard a yelling. He quickly took notice of it. He saw Demon Rex in a pool of water drowning.
The night came.
