"That was amazing, Daxy!" Fey said in a cheerful voice as she jumped up to celebrate. "Were you even holding back? Your previous spell tests were nowhere near that powerful."
"I was!" Dax said. He was still looking at his hand with a concerned grimace on his face. "It shouldn't have been that powerful, there is no way it should have been. I know I am better at holding back, so why was it even more powerful?"
"Could be the fact your mana reserve has grown since the last time you did spell testing." Elle said. "Normally someone is born with mana, and it slowly grows with them. At least that's how it worked in the high mana time of the world. As it grows, they learn to control it, knowing just how much to use to make a spell how they want it.
For you it was the opposite. You had a vast sea of mana to start and had to dig down to the point you needed to be."
