He still held my hands to stop me from covering up my face with my palms. He brought his face to mine, finally.
I was expecting a kiss from him but he did something different. He trailed the tip of his nose across my right cheek, slowly going to my neck from there. He left a peck there, sending a set of waves through me. I couldn't explain it but I liked it. His lips came to my ear and he whispered;
"I don't know if I can tell you this enough but fuck, you are beautiful." My lips automatically curved upwards when he said that.
His face was back to where I could see, they were directly opposite mine again and his lips was so close to mine, I could kiss them.
Oh yes, I could, what was stopping me? I tried to join our lips but he didn't let me, taking his face back from mine. With supposed surprise, I looked at him.
"I didn't say you could kiss me, I will be the one to kiss you." I heard him say but then paused like he just realized something.
"Wait, can I kiss you now? You'll be okay if I kiss you right here and now?" He asked, his eyes fixed on me waiting for an answer.
Was he serious, he was so close to my neck just now, making me lose myself a bit and he wanted to know before he could kiss me? I mean, if anyone were to see us, they would have, all the while we've been here alone.
I looked behind me and saw that there was no one coming before I nodded.
"There isn't anyone com..." He kissed me before I could finish. His left hand pulling me closer to him than I was, and his right hand going behind my neck.
"Mmmn." I heard myself. His fingers were exploring the nape of my neck, and somehow that felt as good as when he rested his hand on my thigh the other day.
His kiss got slower and deeper. I had my eyes closed but when I opened them, his eyes wasn't. He was looking behind me as he kissed me. I broke our lips to turn back but I didn't see anyone there.
"Is there someone there? Who are you looking at?" Fear took over me as I asked him. Did someone see us?
He just shook his head, using his thumb to caress around my lower lips while my eyes went back over and again to be sure there wasn't really anyone there.
He made me face him, turning my head away from where I was looking at and back to him, then he pecked me on the lips.
"One minute till school closes," he looked at his watch."Fifty seven seconds now," he added.
He was accurate. After some seconds, the bell rang above our heads and the doors to the classrooms opened with students trooping out.

Next day.
We were back from school and at home; it was early evening, some minutes past four. I was reading a novel on my phone as I usually did when I heard the door to Nick's room open.
Was he going out? He was going to leave me all alone at home again? I couldn't let him leave. I know I enjoyed my time alone and I loved reading on my phone but being alone in the house, no, that was different, it felt lonely.
When I stayed with my mum, it was a small space, I didn't feel so lonely whenever she went to her job and I had to be home alone after school. This house was bigger, way bigger than the apartment I lived in with my mum; it was so big, I hated to stay alone here.
"Nick?" I stopped him just in time.
"What?" He didn't look very keen to answer me.
"Are you going somewhere?"
"Well, obviously, yeah I am. Why are you asking?"
"Can I come with?"
"No." His reply was pretty quick and sounded almost automatic, it was like he already planned to say no before I even asked.
"Please?"
"You don't even know where I am going?"
"To see your friends?"
"I'm going over to Uche's." He was going to Uche's?!!!
"Can I come?" I asked again, giving him my pretty eyes. He rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"Yeah, come if you want, it's not like you wouldn't come if I said no."
"I'll go get dressed..." I made to quickly go back into my room and change but heard Nick ask.
"Get dressed? For what? We are just going to Uche's."
"Yeah, you told me that already. I don't this looks okay." I stood now, trying to correct my mistake of showing my excitement when he said I could go to Uche's with him.
"What you're wearing is fine, I mean, it's just the next yard right?"
"I should change, this is my lazy Sunday dress, I'm not sure you want your friend seeing mr looking ridiculous."
"Uche? He has seen you look most ridiculous with your hair messy and all that," Nick chortled like I was being silly wanting to change from what I was putting on."Can we just leave? I have to go see someone pretty quick before going to his place."
"Oh. Am I going there first?" I asked if I was going to have to be at Uche's place alone before he returned from seeing whoever he had to meet quickly. With my toes curled, I hope I was hiding my excitement just right.
"Yeah, I'll come join you guys."
"Oh okay. If that's the case, then you can leave now, I'll just lock the doors before I go there." I suggested.
"No! You are leaving with me, and I'm locking the doors myself. Can't have the keys missing again."
"Fine, whatever." I hissed at him before entering my room and shutting the door. I was in front of my wardrobe trying to quickly figure out something pretty to wear when i heard Nick ask in a loud voice from outside my room.
"Really?! You seriously are gonna change clothes?!
"I'll be out quick!" I assured and sighed after I didn't get another word from him.
