Chapter 26 - A Reversed Situation: Rei's Might!

Rei smirked as he saw the poison finally take effect.

In fact, since the start he was 100% sure that the poison was working, after all, a system message keep popping every time he struck the orc.

*Ding*

[The target has been poisoned.]

[1 HP will decrease in every 10 seconds.]

The orc stared at his palm for a second right after which, he screamed, "YOU!"

He pulled his sword back and swung again with all his strength.

Rei again pulled himself together and tried his best to dodge the attack, in fact, he would have dodged the attack completely if not for the orc loosening his grip!

Because of the constant burning sensation and immense pain that suddenly exploded in his body, the orc's grip loosened as he slowly lost strength in his arms,

The sword, being heavy, started to go lower and lower – this time, almost slicing up Rei's head!

The attack could have been deadly if Rei hadn't recalled the one and only skill that he had received via the mission – One Strike.

[Skill name: One Strike]

[Skill grade: E]

[-> When activated, causes 5x more damage on target.]

He recalled the name, grade and description of the skill and without wasting any more time, he used it!

"One strike!", a silver light engulfed the dagger.

Rei too swung his dagger in the direction of the large sword, trying to actually deflect the sword.

However, contrary to just parrying the attack, a large amount of shockwave was generated when both weapons met.

Surprisingly, the gigantic orc was pushed two steps away, and due to the pressure and weakness that had engulfed his body, he dropped the great sword.

At that time Rei threw his dagger toward the orc's eye, which easily pierced it, causing the orc to scream yet again.

The great sword was in front of Rei, lying on the ground as the orc just let go of it. So, thinking of this as an opportunity, Rei decided to lift the sword and finish the orc, fie, he overestimated his strength.

The sword was so heavy that his arms didn't bulge. He tried his best to lift the sword but in the end, he failed again and again.

He spot another orc rushing towards him just when the weakest Orc's eye was pierced. The incoming orc was going to tackle Rei and blast him away and help his other orc friend too, but he was too late.

While Rei too wanted to finish with another strike, he didn't anticipate that the poison was too strong.

*Ding*

[You have killed an Orc.]

[You have gained 45% Exp.]

Rei was surprised to see the text, but he didn't have any time to express his joy as another orc was just three metres away from him.

He was weird a gigantic axe.

The orc swung his axe towards Rei, trying to kill him in a single blow.

This orc didn't want to give Rei any chance of dodging. In fact, as Rei held the heavy sword, the orc thought that it would be hard for Rei to dodge or make any move, but little did he know about Rei's skill.

"One strike!", Rei's arms once again bulged.

The sword that was very heavy to him just a moment ago suddenly became light.

Silver light travelled from Rei's arms to the sword and coated it.

The great sword clashed with the giant axe and surprisingly sliced the axe into pieces! It didn't stop there. It continued moving and sliced the orc's body.

"ARGH!"

His body glowed with a green light for a bit as he levelled up. Now, he felt that he had grown a tiny bit stronger and the sword, comparatively, felt lighter but was still heavy for him to pick.

Well, his rewards didn't end there. Because of using a skill for the first time, and for using it in a unique way – using twice within a set amount of time, he not only completed a mission, but also got another SKILL!

Rei was not only surprised, but also excited as he gained yet another skill!

However, he could only express his excitement later as Lucas warned him about another Orc left who suddenly snuck up behind Rei.

Yes, Rei's eyes widened as he felt a lot of pressure right behind him.

Rei quickly turned his head and saw the strongest orc out of the three standing in a menacing position.

As Rei was holding the sword, he thought about using it yet again with the skill that he just received.

"Double Strike…", he murmured.

Once again silver light travelled from his arms to the sword and coated it. At that time the great sword that the orc held, was speeding toward Rei but before it could make contact with him, he launched his Double Strike.

Both great swords clashed, causing shockwaves to spread across the area.

The great sword that Rei was holding clashed with the sword of the orc once again. The double strike was an attack that was a combo of two – one strikes.

Needless to say, it was a powerful attack with Rei's strength stat doubling!

The first strike caused the orc to be pushed back by a bit, but the second strike ended up shattering the Long sword.

"Huff…", Rei then glanced at the orc in a dominating manner – their situation was completely reversed.

"…"
