Chapter 43 - Zone

"I feel uneasy, it's been a while since they left but they haven't been back yet. And breakfast is ready."

Shola looked down at the set table, she had just finished setting up their breakfast, a lighthearted food to give both of them energy for the day. But they have not been back.

She looked at the large wall clock hanging on the wall that demarcated the dining from Ayo's parlor. It was a studio of some sort and wasn't a full demarcation.

To the left of the wall was the door that led to the kitchen.

She loosened the apron on her and dropped it on the head of the chair. Folded her arms on her breast while her eyes stayed on the clock for a few more minutes.

'Should I just go?'

She pouted, trying to paint a scenario where something dangerous has happened to them but at the same time, she didn't want to seem overprotective and make things weird between her and Ayo.

He had completely locked everyone out after the death of his mother, somehow he suddenly changed and now things were getting better between the two of them.

She was taking all accounts to be careful.

She raised her head and let out a tired sigh.

'I should just let them be, maybe they are having fun on their way back'

Picturing Ayo having fun with Dara wasn't really working, those two did nothing but bicker.

'Hey who knows, they might connect for once...?'

She gave herself all the reasons not to worry, but she gave in to her concerns at last.

She grabbed a coat to cover her body which was exposed by the tight shorts she was wearing and the tank top that hugged her breast.

Not caring to put on something proper she buttoned the coat and wore random slippers and stormed out of the place.

Ganglati shook his wrist and sneered down at the fainted lady with irritation in his eyes.

"Weak humans. I have no idea why they try so hard when it is all for nothing."

He muttered, sliding a side of his hair back to make it more slick.

Then he took his gaze to Ayo who was laying lifeless on the ground.

"Weak humans..."

He finally grabbed his hair to pick him up from the ground but before he could proceed–

He paused. And looked up... to the direction he sent Dara too. Then he squinted his eyes.

'No way...'

Wham!

Without warning, a fire streak pulled through the distance in an instant. Concealed in the quick streak that came like a sonic combustion, Dara's feet were first seen but it was too late for him to react.

He tried to block the strike but her flying kick dredged into his gut sending out a blast of air from his back as he curled forward as the pain of her hit soared through his whole veins.

Before he could be sent reeling through the air by the mighty force of her feet she grabbed his white hair repelling the force by slamming her leg to the ground.

Her hair had reddened and was almost on fire. Her eyeballs had rolled out and only her sclera could be seen. It was as though she had entered some zone.

Irritated and disappointed at himself, Ganglati scowled and held her wrist. But her boiling skin immediately seared his palm making him pull his hands away by instinct. Before he could garner himself again.

A punch smite his jaw from below, sending tremor all over his head. He couldn't resist being stunned and blacked out for a second.

She grabbed his neck and raised him, every part of her body looked like it had been caught up in flames and her consciousness was far from her.

After being defeated by Ganglati before she could even try her best, all that swelled in her was anger. She wanted to destroy him at all costs.

This was not to protect her cousin, no. It was the pride of a martial artist who felt she should be more.

His skin melted away, smoking under the influence of her searing grip on his neck. No matter the part of her body he tried to grab, it was as hot as the flames of hell and he couldn't put his hand there for more than a second.

His brows pulled closer to each other, deepening his frown.

"Fuck..."

He clenched his teeth and widened his eyes.

Upon widening his eyes, his eyeball glinted more than ever but this time, the white streak burned like a flame with its color shifting to a pink hue.

His body began to crystallize and providing him with the ability to resist her burns.

He clenched his fist and delved it into her chest which sent her reeling backward but instead of crashing behind, she expelled an enormous combustion of flames using that as momentum to negate the force that sent her away.

Her feet scraped backward against the floor but came to a stop no later than a second.

Still in the zone, she darted into her with a maddening speed that released instantaneous sonic sounds as she closed the distance between them.

As she closed towards him–his hand covered her view. Grabbing her face he smashed her to the ground and scraped her against it as she ran forward.

Pulled her up to his face with a nasty grin on his face. Her battered face reflected on his diamond skin. His look was inhuman and made it evident that he was not one of them.

With a tiny thread of consciousness finding its way back to her mind, Dara groaned but she was helpless and powerless at his grip.

Plus all the adrenaline she felt from before was now slowly disappearing. Now that her consciousness was returning to her.

All that she could feel was a world of pain layered on her back.

"Foolish humans."

He smirked and pressed his hand tightly against her head, meaning to burst it to shreds.

"Darasimi!!"
