"Ayo!!!"
Darasimi screamed as she landed on the scene like a fire demon, the large flare of fire on her feet slowly calmed down as she sank to her knees and held her cousin in her arms while the arrow embedded in his chest slowly disintegrated.
"It is his fate. He was never supposed to be in this world before."
The guy standing ten meters away from her said, wearing his pink round glasses and adjusting them.
Dara's brow tightened together in horror, a mixture of sorrow and anger could vividly be read in her eyes, and her eyeballs turned from their usual dark color to the flaming orange.
-WHOOOOM-
From her fist, streaming down to her shoulders and back, a massive combustion of fire emanated, flaring behind her and forming a halo behind her back.
Seeing the halo of fire, the guy opposite her suddenly grimaced.
"How can this be?"
He immediately swung the pen forward about to activa–
"Blaze fist"
Daras shot forward, engulfing her fist in fire and arching a punch into the man's face before he got a chance to summon his bow.
A massive sonic sound of energy reverberated in the atmosphere–as her fist connected to his cheek, a circular fire blast was expunged forcing him into a hurtling race into the building next to them, crashing in and out of walls. It was three walls before he finally came to a stop.
He stood up and readjusted his broken neck, his cheek was bruised but that was all. Although that punch carried enough firepower to disintegrate a human head.
It was already amazing enough that the power of a newly awakened human like her tossed him away.
She frowned, 'It's not at its best'
She tightened her fist which was still oozing off smoke from the flames she had ignited. She had delved herself into training ever since the gate outbreak in her house. Trying to know her abilities first.
At first, she was scared, just like everybody else, they were suddenly caught in a spiraling portal, transported to a scenery no one had ever been to. Moreso, monsters with four hands and snake legs (of some sort) began to attack them.
In a blink of an eye, people began losing their lives like cockroaches and in that moment, the person that stepped up was her mom.
She had always known her mom to be strong, from a kid she and her sister were trained in martial arts and often attended the world tournament, her sister which was Ayo's mother met Ayo's father on one of those occasions.
Shola had always been the best at it, although Ayo's mom had all the beauty and brains, she was the brawl and that built an impeccable leadership quality in her.
Being the first to awaken strange abilities she led the clueless awakened humans through the disaster and eventually with enough teamwork, they were able to hold on till a designated force of equally awakened people arrived.
They were late, but there was nothing to be done. The numbers of trained awakened were small and the number of gate breaks was large and rampant. It was a dilemma having to divide them between the gates.
The gates with the highest danger rate were just left untouched, people were put on emergency evacuation.
Dara realized this could be a chance for her to be stronger than she was. She had been facing a huge wall and right now, she was one of the few crazy persons on Earth that was glad about this chaos.
Her frown got more rigid as she saw the guy walk out of the hole carved when he flew away by the force of her Blaze fist.
"I must admit, you are strong. For a human who is just awakening, you are quite strong."
"I don't need no compliment from you. I will have your head for what you did to my cousin."
She growled at him, preparing her fist, and lowering her waist a little to generate an even greater force.
'She does know how to use her body."
The guy said, looking down from her waist to her legs.
What was not expected was the fact that humanity would adapt so easily to this chaos and even bring out its best. The martial arts world was not something that several humans were aware of.
A way of fighting.
Clans against clans
Families against families
Tournaments to prove the twelve strongest masters.
To think about it, all was in place for an easy adaptation to this chaos. But no one would have ever known, not even the martial art world itself.
This guy, Ganglati, found it very appealing that someone like her was able to draw out the power of fire. More than that, her fire was of a stronger origin, it had a striking semblance to a fire he knew.
A fire that was capable of burning anything.
'There's no way, it must be something I am just thinking. Yes, there's no way someone like her will have that.'
He reaffirmed inwardly and then took off his glasses, folded them, and put them in his breast pocket.
"As much as I would love to entertain you. I have no time for such."
He said, deeping his right hand into his pocket he brought out a compass-like rondure and point it sideways towards Ayo who was laying lifeless on the ground.
Even though she had no idea what he was trying to do. She dashed forward, picking an arching vertical kick from below–
He swung his hand out of her range and launched his other hand at her exposed chest.
Before his hand could make it halfway, her leg nailed his temple from nowhere almost forcing him to the ground but he picked himself up and did a few somersaults away from where he was standing.
He raised one brow, this was beyond being talented. It was logically impossible to bring back her leg and hit him with that much force unless it was something she had tried before.
'What it is I'm not getting about this people.'
While he was perturbed by Darasimi's near-perfect flexibility, she was highly disappointed in herself.
'Shit, I failed to activate it again.'
She gritted her teeth.
