Chapter 64 - The Ring

"Can't I?" When George did not reply to her, Krishna assumed she was not permitted, as the crazy guy remained to stare at her with his lips pressed into a thin line.

Contrary to her thoughts — as her voice wrapped in a coquettish tone — the man was mesmerized by her playful voice.

George blinked and fought the urge to lean over and kiss the woman before him. Suppose not for his cell phone vibrating in his trousers pocket; he might do that already.

He pulled the gadget out of his pocket and read the messages that arrived one after another.

Meanwhile, Krishna was oblivious to why George did not reply to her. Whereas, what she believes is opposite to the latter's thought.

She didn't notice that he was quite jealous when her eyes sparkled after she recognized the men lounging leisurely in the Cafe. Moreover, she requested that he arrange a meeting with them to ask for their autographs and take some pictures.

'Although they were well-known celebrities, undeniably I am far richer and more handsome than them.' George was mumbling while he was typing on his phone, replying to someone. His pupils constricted upon lifting his head and met her bright brown round eyes. When he wired a large sum of money the other day, she wasn't this ecstatic.

"They were seriously shooting the movie, and they only took brief breaks. Thus, reporters and fans could not visit the filming set."

It was actually not true. He only made up this lie. Now that he learns she fancied those male celebrities, he had no plan to bring her there again until the shot ended and they checked out from his resort.

He brought her to his other resort to make up with her by treating her to lunch and letting her order all the dishes she wished to eat later.

Hence, he did not see it coming — that once she saw those actors, her reaction was this.

On the other hand, Krishna was saddened that she could not get some photographs of those actors. She then mumbled, "Kate and the others surely will be over the moon when they learn I've met their favorite actors."

Regret was written all over her face. George, who perked up his ears to hear whatever she was muttering about, suddenly felt guilty.

"What did you say?" he asked curiously, looking at her with expectant eyes, that she actually wanted those actors' autographs not for herself but for somebody else.

"They were my friends' favorite actors because of their manly appearance. They were crazy with muscled men. I'm just thinking those girls would squeal nonstop to see them wearing only swimming trunks."

George raised one brow upward as he queried her. "How about you?"

"Huh? What about me?" she pointed to herself.

Krishna blinked innocently, which narrowed George's gaze. He pressed his lips and spat, "Aren't you like a muscled guy too only wearing swimming trunks?"

His initial plan is to tie her up tonight and let her watch his naked body.

Krishna rolled her eyes as she pretended to ponder over it. Then she grinned afterward.

"Not overly." She honestly doesn't like bulk men, as well as the super thin body. Although her deceased fiance has an excellent build, she doesn't find him overly muscled, just in the right places.

After she said that, George coughed lightly and straightened his back. He was busy expanding his empire. Despite that, he did not forget to exercise regularly, as he needed to stay fit all the time. Not only to maintain a healthy body, but he had several enemies. He needs to be an excellent fighter to win during physical combat. Thus, he could flaunt his perfect build of six packs.

"Ahem! They were here for another month, so you have a chance to meet them some other time. Your plate was full this week. I am only taking you today since I have something to discuss with Michael."

"Oh. Okay." Since George had explained this, Krishna nodded and smiled faintly. At least, the former gave her a positive answer; thus, she must not complain or make demands. 'I thought he brought me here to keep his promise.'

Even so, she could not hide her disappointment at some point, and George did aware of it. Ever since he crossed paths with Krishna again, he constantly lied to her; either to hide some secrets, he made a lot of excuses to prevent her from doing something, which he instantly regretted and felt guilty about.

'Why did I exert too much energy to please this woman? She is only my baby's mama. She is barely my lover, nor my wife to ensure she was happy.'

He had no answer to his own question. Krishna was only staying by his side because he impregnated her without his knowledge. He would only regard her as an insignificant person in his life if she didn't give birth to his firstborn.

George settled into this reflection and shakes off the unnecessary thoughts. He looked forward while waiting for the elevator. Soon, it finally arrived, and he was surprised to see the old couple that emerged from it.

"Chairman Crow, sir!" George bowed like a knight at the older man. Then he turned to the older lady and showed a curtsy. "Lady Lily..."

"Young Lord George Graham." The older lady had a sweet smile upon seeing George. Then her gaze was fixated on Krishna. "Hello, darling."

Krishna, who was fascinated staring at George offering a curtsy to someone, was startled when the older lady greeted her.

"It was an honor to meet you, Lady De La Rue." Krishna placed one leg behind the other and bent while uttering her greetings.

Both the older couple and George are amazed when she demonstrates perfect courtesy. Not only that, she actually recognized Lily Crow as a noble lady from the De La Rue family of Italy. Anyway, she was a beloved cousin of the King of Spain. Naturally, its citizens knew this information and that's the reason she showed an aristocratic curtsy.

"Fue un placer conocerte, querida," said Lily Crow.

"El placer es mío, milady."

Krishna replied to the older lady with delight. The two men remained quiet, letting the two ladies interact. Watching on the side, Nicholas Crow cast George a meaningful gaze. The latter smiled faintly and let the older man assume whatever was on his mind.

At this encounter, his admiration for Krishna had increased. She behaved like an elegant noblewoman before Lady Lily, a true royal blood. Henceforth, she interacts with the older woman well, without a tinge of nervousness that could spot in her action. Instead, admiration was exhibited on her face.

After short courtesies, George introduced Krishna to the chairman. He emphasized that he was the owner of Crow Corporation, which operates the Empire Dragon Hotel.

"Nice to meet you, sir." Krishna shook hands with the chairman. Her gaze lowered to their hands when she felt the ring brushing her fingers.

Upon having a closer look at the ring, Krishna was stunned when she saw the pattern.

'The ring was similar to grandpa!'

Curiosity crept toward her troubled chest. She stared at the older man, but no words formed on her tongue. She wanted to ask the chairman why he had the same ring as his grandfather but didn't know where to begin.

'Could it be possible that Chairman Crow knew my grandpa?' Krishna could not remove this question from her head.

"What's wrong?" Noticing the changes in her expression, George enquired Krishna after the older couple left. He wondered, 'Why did she suddenly become flustered? I know the chairman was intimidating and still looks young and vigorous despite his age.'
