Chapter 25 - Murder Me

George did not give me an answer. He turned around and strode toward Krishna in a hurry. I followed him and demanded an explanation. "George."

"Just do what I've told you, Rowan."

George did not listen to me. He approached Krishna and grabbed her by the arm.

Krishna was serious about picking out some scarf for her friends; thus, she was startled when George suddenly pulled her.

"What do you want?" Krishna sneered at George, attempting to get free from his hold.

"Come with me!" said George, at the same time grabbing her arm and ushering her toward the door. Krishna struggled, but to no avail; her strength did not match George's.

Watching them, I could only heave a tense sigh inwardly. "George…"

George snatched the scarves from Krishna's hand and handed them to me, saying, "Here, wrap them, but don't let Stella pay for them!"

It was George's instruction before he left the store with Krishna.

"What was he thinking?"

"Where are they going, Rowan?" I heard Stella speak behind me. I turned around and faced her, pursed my lips with a smile.

"Something came up, and George needed Krishna's company." I'm glad that Stella was a simple-minded person, and she believed my explanation. It feared me if she asked further. There is nothing I could use as an excuse but a lame one.

"Alright, then... Oh! Are they the scarves Krishna wanted to purchase for her friends?"

"Yes, they are."

"Then, give them to me. I'll instruct the store clerk to wrap them exquisitely."

"Ah. There is no need for you to do that, Stella. George wanted to pay for them."

"Really? Great! In the end, he could not hide his romantic side." Stella uttered this with a smile. She ultimately assumes that Krishna is George's girlfriend when the truth is Krishna was the third party in her marriage with Florian.

'I'm sorry, Stella. But I am in no position to reveal the truth until George permits me.'

However, I don't know what is running through my brother's mind.

KRISHNA'S POV

Everything in this store was lovely. It immersed me in picking out pretty scarves according to my friend's favorite colors. But when I was about to choose mine, someone grabbed me by the arm.

"What are you doing!? Let me go!" However, the crazy guy did not reply or listen to my pleading. He just dragged me toward the door. I struggled but to no avail. So I just gave up as my arm ached.

"Stop struggling!"

"Then don't drag me!" I have all the desire to smack this guy on the head. He had nothing in his mind but to find every way to torture me! "You have no right to drag me around whenever you like!"

"Just shut your mouth!"

"Where do you plan to take me? Are you going to murder me now, huh?"

"What are you saying? Am I that kind of person to you?"

"Yes! You throw insults at me every chance you have!" I bellowed to hold my ground. I have no plan to back down and let this crazy man do whatever pleases him.

"Huh! You have a thick face, do you? You expect me to respect you? Who the hell are you to earn my respect? Over my dead body! A gold digger like you should throw on the ocean!"

"What… What did you say? Are you…" Suddenly, the feeling of terror got the better of me. I could not control my body from shivering as I scrutinized this crazy guy and whether he was earnest.

Crazy George's lips curled, and his eyes flickered with amusement when he noticed I panicked. Seeing his expression, I grabbed the hem of my coat to borrow strength and not lose myself.

Why would I not?

He has wealth and power. He can do that to anyone, mainly a peasant like me if he wishes for someone to disappear from this world.

"So? Are you admitting now that you are afraid of me?" Crazy George took a step forward, and we wrestled gazes.

With what he said, I gained the confidence not to be intimidated by him. I straightened my back and lifted my chin as I made my reply.

"Why would I be afraid of you? Go ahead and butcher me if that makes you happy!"

Anyway, I have no family who would mourn for me, only my friends. The person I wanted to entrust with my life and future had left me.

I was in upheaval while deprecating myself when I heard a crisp laugh. Good thing that Crazy George brought me to a narrow hallway, so no people around witnessed our argument.

I looked up, and it surprised me how gorgeous Crazy George's smile was. It looks like he is genuinely laughing. He was actually mesmerizing in the eyes.

However, once I remembered his terrible temperament, that turned me off because I knew that deep down in his heart, he was mocking me endlessly. He hates me; it is why he poured all his aggravation in life on me.

"Do you really think I would stain my hands with your unworthy blood? Dream on!" George uttered with disdain. He cast a sidelong glance as he added. "I will keep you alive, of course. I want Stella to divorce Florian, so you are still useful to me. But don't overthink. Soon, I will put you and Florian where you both belong."

After Crazy George threatened me like this, I could not keep calm. It only worsens my worries for Camilla. I need to speak with her as soon as possible. So Jerry needs to finish the job I give him.

"Let's go!" Crazy George ordered, but I remained rooted to my feet.

"Where are you taking me?"

"You have no right to query about anything!" he retorted harshly.

"Then just let me go! Do you want me to disappear? Then I promise not to bother any of you!" I pleaded, but Crazy George only shot me a sharp glare.

"Are you deaf? Didn't I mention I would use you? Aren't you thrilled Florian will have a divorce from Stella? Although Florian will lose his status in the noble circle, at least you can keep a handsome man, right? Ah, of course! Now that you know what will happen to Florian after we kick him out of the family, you cannot wait to leave him."

"You're out of your mind! Don't you want me to break up with him?"

"Heh. So you admit that you have a relationship with my cousin."

I wish I could crumple that mouth of his. Crazy George had only tricked me into saying something that I would look like the guilty one, and I hated myself for falling into it.

Gritting my teeth, I sneered in my heart as I shot a dagger look at him.

"Krishna? I'm glad to see you, my dear!"

"Mother Donny…" I sighed with relief when Fairy Godmother appeared out of nowhere. I was delighted. It felt like I saw my knight in shining armor.

"I'm glad that you were here, dear. Anna is already waiting for you to discuss your contract. Shall we?"

"Sure!"

I took this heavenly opportunity to get rid of Mr. Crazy George. I hooked my arm around Mother Donny's elbow and let him bring me to Anna's store.

As for the crazy guy, I have nothing to do with him anymore. I hope he disappears from my life soon.
