It was just a normal night when I fell fast into my dream world. After a long and brain-jamming day of school. Just like every other day I was on my bed until I wasn't. To my surprise instead of an alarm, I set up. I was woken by the crashes of vulgar waves, and the smell of salty seaweed "The smell of the ocean". Quite strange considering I had just fallen asleep in my house, but the next thing I knew I found myself in the middle of the evening crashing into the sand which made me tickle.
It wasn't any island as well, there were buildings in sight and electrical posts. 4 schools lined up next to each other, all written "school" in extremely neon colors, one was red which was the same height as the blue written building, the one written in green was the smallest, and lastly, the biggest one was written in yellow.
Also, I was standing on a beach one meant for people. Strangely not populated by the way. considering how nice it is. There should be plenty of people with their umbrellas and ice-cold drinks.
It was the middle of summer after all; Don't understand how there is nobody here in the month when it was the hottest. My pajamas were soaking wet, which made me feel like a soggy noodle, But it was drying thanks to the sun. My black hair was all over the place looking like tentacles.
I could barely feel my body: feeling like a giant had been sleeping on my body while I was asleep.
Anyways If you're wondering how I was not freaking out. This wasn't the first time a strange thing like this happened in these 12 years I've been alive(13' in 2 months). "This is the first time something big as this had happened though" Normally it would be strange dreams. Encountered magical creatures(Even though it was invisible to other people around me), one day a fairy asked me for the location of the nearest hot dog shop. Waking up in the clouds as I slowly hovered to the surface... But waking up in a completely unfamiliar place was new.
But unlike my hometown, this place was populated by those creatures.
I sat up and study my surroundings more: This was indeed the strangest thing that happened in my life, this place was surrounded by fairies, unicorns, and other mythical/magical creatures.(Whichever you prefer)
Normally I would see one of these creatures a few times a year. But this place was like a cereal bowl full of these things. My ankles were still aching like a giant boulder was over them. That led me to just sit there and enjoy the sight for a while. Until 3 magical creatures hovered over me, 2 fairies with just visible shining light, and a black-striped and sharp-beaked flaming orange phoenix.
"My my, it worked " The first fairy delightedly said. "Nyeh" A normal horse kicked.
"Bell? Is this truly the one living in a normal city? He looks so unfazed it's scary." the other fairy took cover behind the delighted Bell. "Seth he is the one. I see thunder in this boy's heart and the blessing of victory in his body. He is the one." The phoenix showed off his prideful wings that burned bright red. He puffed his chest declaring he will never get something like this wrong. "But Blake!" Seth tried to deny the claim. But Blake the phoenix glared signing a card of shutting up.
"Um?" Catching their attention back to me." So, to put it simply, I have no idea why I am here. Mind telling me, you 3 weird-ass quirky creatures"
"Hmmm. Maybe it was fate you ended up here" Blake's face didn't change, but my insult seemed to have affected his tone. Then again a bird can't do many expressions.
But it was pretty obvious it was the complete bullcrap he spoke reason being: he was mad. Even The 2 fairies (Bell and Seth) Were looking at him, saying "What crap you angry rooster?" Well, they didn't say it out loud: It was still obvious he had something to do with me coming here.
"Just tell me why am I here? Also, I want to know what I am supposed to do to get home." Well, The creatures weren't surprised at me asking that. But I knew one thing...
GRRRR, "I'm hungry..."
"Then if you listen to our offer, we will get you something." Suddenly my body seemed to be energetic as a puppy, springing up like a rabbit at their offer.
"I'm in."
And there goes plate 12, never thought I would eat this good! sparked with joy, like a little boy going into the park, or buying ice cream. Unlike how I thought it was gonna be, there were humans here. Some couples casually walk in the streets, families ate at restaurants or looked around, while some teenagers look at their phones-some walk around with their friends.
We had settled in a little restaurant that had green and healthy plants act as a fence, the outside seats had little umbrellas in case it rained, while the inside had a little TV for sports lovers. The kitchen was forbidden, and the order placement looked like a kitchen counter you would have in apartments. It was neatly painted black and oak brown.
But what interested me most, were the animals they had, a little ghostly tiger, fairies kept as pets too, and a lot of other magical creatures.
It was even weirder that 3 creatures that are normally pets had IDs, money, and credit cards. My thinking was interrupted by the 13th plate of the juicy medium rare stake being served, having a BBQ aroma from the teriyaki sauce. Taking up my knife and fork, I hold the beef as soft as marshmallows with my fork and cut it with the metal knife.
Inhaling the piece, my tongue jumps around in joy, as juice fills my tastebuds, like a smoked steak, but still having the perfectly tended sides and the texture of a 5-star restaurant.
About to take the second bite, a feather hits my head "Well now, I guess we can talk now," Seth Blake and bell said in harmony "We want you to join one of the academies, you saw when you first opened your eyes." Blake claps his wings together, as Seth and Bell violently nod as if it was a hard-metal concert.
"Why should I? I liked my old school, and I wanna go home still. I'm close to finishing a web novel and I don't want any interruptions!" Spitting out some of my precious steak bites while talking.
"..." Bell and Blake sit down broken. But Seth has a lightbulb over her head "Free steak from the cafeteria as long as you stay there." And that was all that they needed to say!
I extend my finger over Seth "You got a deal little one." And so the contract was made.
And I got myself a new school, and a much better house(Actually a dorm). But most importantly, I got myself a new phone. (But first)
