Chapter 32 - Valiant Deaths...

Zaros instantly approached an adventurer before letting out a ravaging blow to his stomach.

Boom!

The punch made an exploding sound as half of the man's body was completely obliterated on the spot.

Blood and guts flew into the air from the force of the blow, raining down upon every other adventurer present.

Boom!

Boom!

Zaros continued his massacre, dashing over to people before annihilating their bodies instantly with a single punch.

Soon, his face looked like it was cracking from the sides, as spiderweb-like lines slowly began to spread on his face.

He was slowly losing his life energy, but he did not care.

Or rather, he had no choice.

This wasn't something one could simply turn off.

Infusing maximum mana into his fist, he let out a powerful blow that eviscerated over ten people at once.

A malicious smile formed on his face as he continued his rampage.

All hope was lost.

What everyone felt in their minds, hearts, and souls was nothing but despair.

To them, they had already lost.

They were going to die that day.

However, just as everything looked meek, a sign of hope flourished from the depths of the darkness.

Drufus and Freya opened their eyes to reveal a white, blinding light that radiated from them.

Out of nowhere, they began to move!

This was unprecedented, they should not have been able to move whatsoever due to Zaros' bloodlust aura, but still, they continued to do so.

They looked ethereal as they held hands and spun around each other, taking intricate yet quick steps as they did so.

The movements resembled that of a dance, only, it was far faster than one anyone had ever seen before.

At the very least, one could say it was beautiful.

The two began spinning so fast around each other that they began to look like blurs, and even like a green tornado of wind.

Similar to the large tornado of energy surrounding them.

Finally, they moved toward Zaros' who was still distracted at extreme speeds.

It seemed as though the aura around them was not stopping them at all.

Just as they arrived mere feet away from Zaros, who had his back turned, he suddenly turned around before slamming his fist into the glowing tornado.

Instantly, the spinning stopped, and the tornado around them changed color from green to red.

They were both blown away several feet, having gaping holes in their torsos.

Zaros looked at them for only a mere second before moving on, as though they weren't any different from the rest of the weaklings.

People were shocked, feeling as though all the air in their lungs had been forcefully driven out.

Their so-called 'hope' disappeared, once again consumed by despair.

Zareth's expression on the other hand... was indifferent.

This was something he had previously expected.

Although their dance generated quite a high amount of power, simply because such affinities to each other's magic were so rare, this did not mean they were anywhere near Zaros' power.

His parent's death was of no concern to him right now.

It was almost a good thing.

Now, he had no more boundaries weighing down on him.

Power could only come to him easier.

However, he did admire how valiant their deaths were.

If he had to fight for his people, he wouldn't hesitate to do almost the same...

Except, not die in the process.

Looking around, Zareth noticed that he could no longer spot Yan, who was with his parent's not long ago.

He immediately scanned the area, to also see that Yan's father was also missing, along with all of the other merchants in his group.

Confusion clouded his mind as he thought

'Where did they go? And when? I have been keeping track of everyone at all times.'

Finally, he noticed that even the adventurers that guarded them had disappeared.

They were unconscious, yet they had still vanished.

Zareth couldn't think of any rational excuse for this.

'Did they all already have some sort of way to leave? I suppose they must have predicted for something like this to happen...'

As he continued to look around, Zareth suddenly heard the trotting of multiple horses behind him.

Forcefully turning his head, he saw multiple carriages drawn by horses making their way out of the town center.

It seemed they were just far enough away to where Zaros' bloodlust aura did not affect them.

Out of nowhere, Yan suddenly appeared from one of the carriage windows.

Looking directly at Zareth, he yelled

"Catch!" as loud as he could, with his voice infused with mana, before throwing what seemed to be an oddly shaped, blueish crystal toward him.

"No!" Another voice sounded from inside the carriage, which Zareth couldn't link to a person.

He managed to catch the crystal, and as it landed in his hand, it immediately dissolved around his skin, causing him to slightly glow blue.

Suddenly, it felt as though hundreds of pounds were laid off of his shoulders.

It looked like Zaros' blood lust aura no longer affected him.

Although he was slightly confused, Zareth wasn't one to simply stand around.

After all, he had been waiting for an opportunity such as this.

Immediately, he dashed onto another roof that was in the direction of the carriages.

However, the afterimage of Zaros suddenly appeared in front of him in an instant, before quickly revealing his true form.

Zaros immediately threw a punch at Zareth, however, missed by a hair as he activated Flash and swiftly hovered under the punch.

As Zareth floated quickly toward the carriages, he turned back and looked at Zaros with a wide grin on his face.

Zareth wanted to fight him.

Not now, but eventually.

Zaros returned the glance before continuing to rampage the city.
