Eloise, an attractive 23 year old girl, woke up from a short nap, and went straight to the kitchen to cook herself a quick breakfast.
She could see Lauren in the living room, busy studying for her upcoming final exams.
Eloise could spot Vampire Ability awakening tools and books neatly placed in one corner of the living room, while Lauren was busy studying her lessons, and doing advanced studies.
"Always the smart girl, eh, Lauren. Are you perhaps aiming to get entrance into a prestigious University here in North Carolina for college? That's quite a big dream for a small town girl like you."
It made Lauren stop what she was reading temporarily, then look up at Elyse for a few minutes.
"You guessed it right, Elyse. Good morning."
Then Lauren resumed what she was studying once again.
Eloise entered the kitchen door.
She cooked English muffins with scrambled eggs, and also made some lemonade to start her day.
She went to the dining room while carrying a tray with her breakfast on top of the tray.
She placed the tray on the dining table, pulled out a chair, sat down, and started eating and drinking while she fished out her smartphone, and watched the video recording that Lauren forwarded to her yesterday.
She watched as Charlotte talked to the witches inside the mansion grounds of the Bancroft family mansion.
The witches could be clearly identified because of the pointed hats that the witches forgot to take off, and Charlotte even acted close and friendly with them.
Well well. This is a not so pleasant surprise. If this video leaks and spreads to the other elite vampires who have seats in the Vampire Coven, this will raise an uproar, and Charlotte will end up losing her seat in the Vampire Coven if she doesn't come up with an acceptable explanation for this.
Eloise thought to herself after she finished watching the video clip.
You'll pay dearly for what you did treacherously to my mother, Charlotte. I'll see to it that you'll lose not only your seat in the Vampire Coven, but possibly even your status among your own family, and lastly, your life. You just wait. After Lauren becomes an elite vampire and hands me control of the elite vampire group Elyse used to lead, then I'll turn your life into a literal living hell.
Eloise shook with anger for a few moments right after drinking her lemonade, then she managed to calm herself and focus her mind on the stuff that she needs to do.
She knew that she needed to stay calm and collected, and not let what happened get into her head, and shake her up badly.
A person who's easily shaken up by disastrous events that just happened to someone close to them can be easily played with like a puppet.
And she won't allow Charlotte to play around with her and take advantage of her that easily.
Aside from holding a seat at the Vampire Council, she owned and operated a lot of small but profitable shops and stalls.
Luckily for her, she only had two siblings, and both of her younger sisters are already aged 18 and 19.
Both of her sisters already left her house after they turned 18, making a living for themselves and studying in a prestigious university in a big city somewhere in Georgia, leaving only her to accompany her mother,before her mother died at the hands of the werewolves.
Eloise craved a second serving of English muffins with scrambled eggs, and lemonade, so she went to the kitchen to get some more.
After she returned to the dining room and started eating and drinking her second serving, she took a trip down the memory lane of her past.
She was born to a middle class high family to a once-human father, and a vampire mother.
Right before their wedding, her mother turned her father into a fully fledged vampire.
Her father was well-off but not rich, and used to work as a civil engineer for a private consultation firm in North Carolina, while her mother was a businesswoman who used to run and manage a medium sized yet very profitable grocery shop in Fayetteville.
She got along well with her two sisters.
Eloise studied in Fayetteville Academy from preschool until Senior High School.
She was a top student, always getting flat A+ grades every school year.
She was popular both inside and outside the campus, as she got a lot of friends, and male admirers who courted her one time or another due to her good looks, fair skin, and well-toned, sexy body.
She had three ex-boyfriends in the past, and for now she is open if another guy would like to come knocking into her life again.
She opted to stay out of extracurricular activities, but she was very active in the Vampire Coven during her teenage years until the present day.
Her dad died in a raid on the werewolves when she was 16,and because of it, her mother had to step up and become strong not only for herself, but also for her three children.
Eloise, who was close to her father, was so affected by her father's death that it only inspired her to become stronger and maintain her status as an elite vampire at a young age.
She also held a seat in the Vampire Coven.
In the Vampire Coven, there are a total of 6 seats called the Vampire Council.
The Vampire Council are the most influential and most powerful vampires among the elite vampires in the Vampire Coven, as they have the power to make rules regarding the welfare of the Vampires. There are two factions, the faction headed by Charlotte which is the majority, and that headed by Eloise, which is the minority faction.
But with Elyse out of the way, Charlotte managed to convince 1 more member of the Vampire Council to side with her faction, causing an imbalance of power.
She also had a natural flair for business, as she helped out at her mother's grocery shop when she got some spare time. Her mother eventually opened another shop because her business was doing good.
When Eloise finished Senior High School she decided against proceeding to college, and focused on starting her own business instead, to the dismay of her mother and her teachers, who felt that she stood a good chance of getting accepted for admission in a major university because of her constantly high grades.
But the start-up businesses she set up prospered and became so profitable that her mother and her instructors learned to accept and be tolerant of her decision.
Right after Eloise returned back to the present, she noticed that she had already finished eating and drinking.
Just as she was about to get up and go back to the kitchen, her smartphone rang.
She picked it up and answered the call.
"Hello? Kiara? How are you faring in your studies and at work? I heard that you found yourself a new guy. It's been a long time since we last talked, sister. As for me, it's still the same old stuff, as usual, managing my business and being active in the Fayetteville Vampire Coven. "
" Eloise. I heard that one of your close friends, Elyse, just died recently. Condolence. Anyway, I'll be out of town this weekend, and go camping with a bunch of college classmates. Do you want in? It will be fun. "
Eloise's youngest sister, Kiara replied on the other end of the call.
" Sure, Kiara. You haven't been doing anything stupid behind my back, I hope? You need to always watch your back. If word gets around Georgia that you're actually an elite vampire, then I'll have a hard time bailing you out from an extremely tricky situation. "
Eloise's tone went serious.
Eloise knew that among her two sisters, Kiara is the rebellious and attention seeking type, and has a devious personality, and always manages to almost get herself into trouble most of the time.
Eloise and her parents always had a hard time bailing Kiara out everytime Kiara got herself into trouble.
"Ugh. Relax, sister. You're such a killjoy." k
Kiara whined from the other end of the call.
"I'm just taking precautions, Kiara. You know how tense and delicate the situation is for us vampires here in Fayetteville. You've witnessed it for yourself upfront. I don't know about the situation in Georgia, but it still pays to be cautious."
"I've had enough with you always lecturing me sister. I'm already 18. I know how to look after myself. And I'm in Georgia now, not in Fayetteville."
Kiara voiced out in protest on the other end of the call.
"Alright, see you when I see you this weekend. Always be careful out there, sister."
Eloise ended the call, then she dialed Sophia's number.
Her phone rang for a few minutes before the call got dropped.
I bet that girl is still in bed right now, since she always wakes up late. Anyway, I'll try calling her up again and see if she answers.
Eloise thought to herself.
Eloise dialed Sophia's number again, and Sophia's sleepy voice answered from the other end of the call.
"Yaawn. Hello? Who am I talking to? Oh, hi Eloise. Why'd you have to call me this early?"
"Good morning, sleepyhead. Time to rise and shine. How are you faring in life so far? Kiara just called a while ago, and she still hasn't changed at all."
It jolted Sophia awake on the other end.
"Good morning too, sister. You jolted me awake with your phone call. I had a busy day yesterday, having to deal with academics right after work and all. I've heard that your businesses are still faring well, and even getting profitable as usual."
"Oh, sorry to jolt you awake, then. We haven't talked for a while, and I thought about checking up on you every now and then."
"It seems that like our sister Kiara, you're still as cautious as ever,Eloise. There are things that will never change as time passes, eh?"
"Uh, you caught me right there, sister. Anyway, Kiara is going camping out of town with some of her classmates in college this weekend, and I agreed to come along. Do you also want to come? It's a good chance to have bonding again, the three of us sisters. "
" I'm not sure if I can tag along, since I'm always busy with work and studies, but I'll see if I can join. I'll just tell Kiara in advance by then. "
" That's good to know, sister. Oh, and don't forget to bring a lot of food along when you do show up at sister's camping. "
" Alright, sister. I'll take note of it. I'm still sleepy right now, so I'll end the call now. Bye for now. It was nice talking to you. "
Then the call ended, and Eloise was left to ponder in silence once again.
Eloise placed the cutlery, glass, and plate back on the food tray, then she went back to the kitchen and washed them in the kitchen sink.
She went back to the living room, and noticed Lauren had already finished studying, and already tidied the mess of notes and books that she made earlier.
Lauren now sat on the reclining sofa, just tinkering around with her deceased sister's smartphone.
Lauren approached a wooden cabinet placed against the wall, and picked up a framed photograph of her with her mother and two sisters, frolicking on the beach when she was still 16.
She picked it up and looked at the photo. All four of them wore a bikini on the beach, with her mother showing off her sexy and well-toned yet pale and fair-skinned body, while looking younger than her real age, as vampires are granted eternal youth as well as immortality.
The past washed over Eloise once again while she was looking at the picture.
Her mother, who was resistant to the sun, was sunbathing in silence, while the three sisters, who were also equally good looking and eye-catching, built a sandcastle while wearing bikinis that exposed their sexy figures.
She could still remember the lovestruck guys who tried to hit them up, but failed when they got rejected right on the spot.
"Waxing all sentimental about happy memories in the past that will never happen again, eh Eloise? Past is past. You can cry all you want and wish all you want that your mother is still alive, but at the end of the day, she's already dead, and will stay dead. Focus on the present, Eloise. "
Lauren's sharp remark abruptly cut off Eloise's reminiscing about the past, and made her snap back to the present.
