"I understand, My Lord," Aelarin replied. His voice was steady, but Gabriel could hear the subtle nervousness within it. "What is my objective?"
"Reconnaissance. As always," Gabriel said. "I want to know what lies beyond the Black Wall—its structure, its defenses, its purpose. Anything you can uncover could be the key to preventing catastrophe. Return as quickly as you can, but not before completing your mission. And remember, if the risk becomes too great, your survival is more important."
Aelarin straightened, his hand resting lightly on the hilt of the elegant blade at his side. "I will not fail you, my Lord."
Gabriel placed a hand on the elf's shoulder, his expression softening just enough to reveal his faith in the scout. "I trust you, Aelarin. Prepare yourself now. It will not be long until I will summon you again."
With a slight bow, Aelarin stepped back and exited the chamber, his footsteps swift and purposeful.
